Background: Attentional control is a critical component of executive functioning involved in numerous psychiatric and neurological disorders, yet its etiological relationships with many cognitive and behavioral phenotypes remain underexplored.

Methods: We conducted the first multivariate characterization of molecular genetic influences on attentional control and other executive processes in a cohort of more than 20,000 individuals enriched for mood disorders. We used Genomic Structural Equation Modeling to formally model patterns of genetic covariance among these task-based measures of cognition, as well as their relationships with other cognitive, clinical, and imaging-derived phenotypes.

Results: We identified two independent latent genetic factors: one broadly influencing executive function and one narrowly influencing attentional control. Both the and factors were genetically correlated with cognitive and clinical phenotypes, with each latent factor uniquely linked to liability for psychiatric disorders. For example, we observed myriad relationships between the factors and psychopathology, including robust and conditionally independent genetic associations with ADHD. However, despite clear links to brain-related phenotypes, genetic correlations with imaging-derived phenotypes themselves were modest and non-significant after correcting for multiple comparisons.

Conclusions: Overall, the results of our study suggest that genetic influences on attentional control are generally distinct from those that influence broader aspects of executive function. The and factors show distinct patterns of genetic overlap with multiple cognitive and psychiatric outcomes, underscoring the need for more detailed phenotyping of cognition to generate new insights into the etiology of psychopathology.

Background: Recently, the role of a rapid increase in serum osmolality in the inhibition of postnatal ductal closure has garnered attention. This study evaluated the efficacy of high-humidity care in preventing the onset of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in extremely premature infants.

Methods And Results: The high-humidity group (HHG) comprised 28 infants (24to 27weeks gestational age) recruited prospectively within 6 h after birth between July 2019 and September 2021; these infants were cared for in 90% humidity for the first 72 h of life.

A Mannosylated peptidyl lipid CManDA doped into cytidinyl/cationic lipids efficiently delivers siG12Ss to lung cancer in vivo.

J Control Release

Gene therapy has attracted widespread attention in recent years, and one of the important delivery systems is the LNP. However, many LNPs have potential toxicity and accumulate in the liver. Here, we designed and synthesized a Gemini-type mannosylated peptidyl lipid called CManDA(M), which, in combination with the cytidinyl lipid DNCA(D) and the peptidyl lipid CLD(C) (D/50C/50 M), could transfect siRNA (siG12S) into A549 cells to target and silence the KRAS gene.

Background: P3a event-related potential (ERP) is considered a potential biomarker for schizophrenia (SZ), can be elicited through both passive two-stimulus and active three-stimulus auditory oddball paradigms. While both types of P3a reflect involuntary attention shifts, the nuanced understanding of what P3a represents in different contexts is important and rarely studied. This study aims to examine correlations between P3a ERPs elicited from different paradigms and associations of each P3a with cognitive function, clinical symptoms, and antipsychotic medication.

State Key Laboratory of Meat Quality Control and Cultured Meat Development, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing 210095, PR China. Electronic address:

Extracellular proteases of bacteria have attracted attention in recent years. Alkaline protease AprA secreted from Pseudomonas fragi has been shown to cause spoilage in chilled meat and to degrade myofibrillar proteins (MPs), but the spoilage mechanism was unknown. AprA possessed a high affinity for substrate proteins (K = 1.
