This report describes a Belgian Malinois dog residing in metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona that was presented to a veterinary neurology center with abnormal eye movements as his only clinical sign. On examination, clinical signs were isolated to convergence-retraction nystagmus. A brain MRI was performed which identified two well-demarcated, T2-hypointense and T1-isointense, avidly contrast enhancing mass lesions with moderate to severe perilesional T2 and FLAIR hyperintensity within the left frontal lobe and left dorsal midbrain. Imaging characteristics were most consistent with Coccidioides immitis fungal granulomas and serology was supportive of Coccidioidomycosis infection. The patient's clinical signs resolved quickly with antifungal and anti-inflammatory therapies, and brain granulomas were resolved or resolving on repeat imaging 10 months after initial diagnosis. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of convergence-retraction nystagmus secondary to an infectious etiology described in a canine patient.

A 24 year old warmblood mare (case 1) and a 12 year old Holsteiner gelding (case 2) were anaesthetized for bursoscopy and phacoemulsification, respectively. Both were premedicated with intramuscular acepromazine (30 μg kg). The horses were sedated with intravenous (IV) medetomidine (7-9 μg kg to effect), before anaesthetic induction with ketamine-diazepam.

The key symptoms of vestibular paroxysmia (VP) due to neurovascular cross-compression (classical VP) or compression of the eighth nerve by space-occupying cerebellar-pontine angle processes (secondary VP) are frequent short attacks of vertigo and dizziness with unsteadiness which last seconds to minutes. They can be accompanied by unilateral auditory symptoms such as tinnitus or hyperacusis. Head movements and hyperventilation can induce nystagmus and VP attacks that most often occur spontaneously.

Background: Oculocutaneous albinism is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by congenital melanin deficiency, resulting in hypopigmentation of the eyes, hair, and skin. This study included a Chinese family with an oculocutaneous albinism pedigree, in which the proband presented with oculocutaneous albinismcombined with secondary angle closure, which has been rarely reported in previous literature. This article primarily focused on the clinical and genetic examination results of this patient and provided recommendations for ophthalmologist to treat patients with oculocutaneous albinism in clinical practice.

Background: Nystagmus in infancy may occur as part of an ocular condition, a neurological disorder or be idiopathic. The objective of our study was to evaluate the main causes for nystagmus in infants aged 0-1 year, the accompanying clinical characteristics and the effectiveness of different diagnostic tests used for reaching definite diagnosis.
