The muscles that attach to the pubic bone (rectus abdominis, adductor longus, pectineus, and adductor brevis) constitute a harness that serves as the bedrock of core stability and underpinning the athleticism that defines performance in sports. Their attachment to the pubic bone is a point of weakness that, when disrupted, results in pain and a loss of athleticism. These injuries are not uncommon in baseball. A comprehensive understanding of their function and the commonality of injuries in this area is crucial for developing effective interventions aimed at enhancing athletic longevity and minimizing the risk of injury.

Background: Percutaneous minimally invasive retrograde screw fixation is a widely accepted treatment strategy for patients with superior ramus fractures and has shown good biomechanical stability compared to plating. Recently, elastic stable intramedullary nailing (ESIN) devices have been proposed as an alternative in the treatment of superior ramus fractures. However, biomechanical studies on this new treatment are lacking.

Costello syndrome is a rare genetic disorder associated with developmental delay, short stature, and pubertal delay. However, a few cases of precocious puberty have been reported, reflecting the complex regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis affected by Harvey rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (HRAS) gene mutations. We present a case of a boy with Costello syndrome, heterozygous for a mutation in the HRAS gene, first seen in a pediatric endocrinology consultation at the age of nine years and seven months with central precocious puberty and short stature (-0.

Phenotypic features include impaired maturation of epiphyseal cartilage, osteoporosis, and infertility. Clinical phenotype is not well described and the available data reflect inconsistency.
