Department of Medicine Surgical, Section of Ophthalmology, University of Perugia, S. Maria Della Misericordia Hospital, 06156, Perugia, Italy.
Purpose: To evaluate the occurrence of complications following intravitreal injections (IVIs) performed in an outpatient clean room (OCR) equipped with the mobile laminar airflow device (LAF) Operio.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed the data of 10,016 IVIs performed in an OCR from April 2023 to November 2024. All information of each patient was registered, such as diagnosis, drug injected and any occurring complication or adverse events such as endophthalmitis, intraocular inflammation, rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD), vitreous hemorrhages and elevated intraocular pressure.

Department of Ophthalmology, Inselspital, University Hospital of Bern, Bern Switzerland.
Purpose: To determine the incidence, prognostic factors and management of macular edema (ME) associated with silicone oil (SO) tamponade.
Methods: This retrospective, comparative, observational study included patients who underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and SO tamponade for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) or persistent full-thickness macular hole (FTMH). Demographic data, clinical characteristics, and OCT findings were analyzed, focusing on the presence of ME.

Background: Previous studies have documented abnormal functional changes in the visual pathways and gray matter regions related to vision in Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) patients. However, the extent of alterations in the functional and structural characteristics of white matter (WM) in these patients remains insufficiently understood.
Methods: In this study, we employed functional clustering networks and TractSeg methodologies to investigate the alterations in WM function and structure among patients with RRD.

School of Ophthalmology & Optometry, Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China.
Purpose: To compare the rate of endothelial cell density (ECD) loss in patients undergoing pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with silicone oil (SO) tamponade, focusing on differences between rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) and tractional retinal detachment (TRD) cases.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 427 eyes from patients with RRD (n=293) and TRD (n=134) who underwent PPV with SO tamponade. ECD changes were recorded, and the impact of factors such as age, gender, surgical technique, SO emulsification, tamponade duration, and postoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) were evaluated using univariate and multivariate regression models.

We report a case of a 26-year-old male patient who was diagnosed with morning glory syndrome (MGS) in his right eye through a series of specialist examinations. At the time of consultation, the patient had already experienced retinal detachment in his right eye. The fundus of the right eye showed a 360° grayish-white elevation of the entire retina, with an enlarged optic disc approximately 4-5 times the normal size, featuring a central funnel-like deep depression.
