DICER1 syndrome (DICERs) represents a tumor predisposition genetic syndrome, inherited in an autosomal dominant manner. Germline loss-of-function variants of the gene lead to impaired processing of microRNA, gene expression, and increased risk of tumorigenesis. Although pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) is the hallmark of the syndrome, multiple extrapulmonary malignant and non-malignant conditions have also been described, including multinodular goiter (MNG) and sex-cord stromal tumors.

However, no network meta-analysis has been conducted to compare simultaneous vs staged BTKA procedures with different intervals in terms of postoperative mortality and overall complication rates.
Methods: Four databases - Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science - were searched from inception to December 19, 2023, for studies comparing patients who underwent staged BTKA with different intervals and simultaneous BTKA.
Background: Group B streptococcal (GBS) sepsis during infancy is a leading cause of child mortality and an important contributor to long-term neurodisability. Data on outcomes among invasive GBS infection survivors in low- and middle-income countries are limited. We present 2-year neurodevelopment and growth outcomes after GBS sepsis in Uganda.

Background: The exact characteristics of primary ovarian carcinoid tumors remain largely unknown because of the rarity of the cases. This study aimed to investigate the clinical features, pathological characteristics, and therapeutic outcomes of patients with primary ovarian carcinoid tumors.
Methods: This retrospective case series included patients with primary ovarian carcinoid tumors diagnosed between January 2009 and December 2023 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University.
The National Association of Emergency Medical Services Physicians (NAEMSP), American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT), and American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) believe that evidence-based, pragmatic, and collaborative protocols addressing the care of patients with traumatic out-of-hospital circulatory arrest (TOHCA) are needed to optimize patient outcomes and clinician safety. When the etiology of arrest is unclear, particularly without clear signs of life-threatening trauma, standard basic and advanced cardiac life support (BCLS/ACLS) treatments for medical cardiac arrest is appropriate. Traumatic circulatory arrest may result from massive hemorrhage, airway obstruction, obstructive shock, respiratory disturbances, cardiogenic causes or massive head trauma.
