Spontaneous hemoperitoneum in pregnancy is extremely rare but may cause severe hemorrhage, resulting in a high rate of mortality. We report a case of a primigravid woman who complained of middle-upper abdominal pain. She was admitted to our department at 24 + 6 weeks of fertilization gestation with a surgical history of endometriosis. The patient's non-specific presentation posed diagnostic difficulties and intestinal obstruction was initially suspected. Emergent computed tomographic findings showed massive free abdominal fluid, which was suspected to have arisen from the left ovary or uterus. During an emergency exploratory laparotomy, she had interrupted suturing of a ruptured left uterine subserosal vein performed. Computed tomographic imaging is more helpful for isolating the source of bleeding than ultrasound. Prompt action of an exploratory laparotomy can result in favorable outcomes for the mother and newborn in spontaneous hemoperitoneum in pregnancy.

Spontaneous hepatic hemorrhage (SHH) is a rare condition that usually occurs secondary to a neoplastic process such as hepatocellular carcinoma. We present the case of a 71-year-old male with no history of trauma or malignancy presenting to our facility with a complaint of abdominal pain. Computed tomography scans showed hemoperitoneum, a suspected aneurysmal dilatation of a branch of the left hepatic artery, and contrast extravasation from the artery.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are less prevalent mesenchymal tumors, accounting for 1% of gastrointestinal malignancies. Spontaneous hemoperitoneum (SH) following gastric GIST rupture is a rare occurrence. The present study described a case of a 67-year-old female who presented with acute onset abdominal pain.

Spontaneous splenic rupture is a rare, life-threatening condition that occurs without trauma, often presenting diagnostic challenges due to nonspecific symptoms. The risk of spontaneous splenic rupture increases significantly with underlying pathological conditions, including malaria, where rapid splenic enlargement and altered red blood cell surface characteristics likely contribute to the increased risk of rupture. Here, we describe the case of a 23-year-old male patient who presented with severe abdominal pain and hypotension.

Objective: To determine whether Miniature Horse mares are predisposed to hemoperitoneum from nonneoplastic ovarian hemorrhage and report the clinical characteristics of this disorder.

Animals: 51 equines with hemoperitoneum, including 22 nonminiature mares and 9 Miniature Horse mares, identified by searching medical records of a tertiary large animal hospital for confirmed hemoperitoneum cases between 2012 and 2023.

Clinical Presentation: Signs of hemoperitoneum in miniature mares included lethargy, inappetence, colic, tachycardia, and moderate to severe anemia (PCV ranging from 11% to 19%).
