Ultrasound is an important tool in small animal andrology for assessing the integrity of the testes. This study explores ultrasound's role in assessing the canine testes and understanding the correlation of sonographic parameters to sperm quality. It investigates B-mode and Doppler ultrasound techniques alongside advanced methods like Shear-wave Elastography (SWE) and Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). The aim was to standardize a multiparametric ultrasound (MPUS) evaluation protocol using these techniques in normozoospermic dogs. Eight healthy male dogs were assessed. B-mode assessed testicular morphology, while Doppler evaluated testicular artery waveform morphology and velocimetric parameters. SWE measured testicular stiffness, and CEUS assessed testicular perfusion. Seminal parameters were also analyzed. Results revealed normal B-mode sonographic findings and some correlations between Doppler parameters and sperm quality. SWE demonstrated consistent testicular stiffness regardless of the depth of evaluation, with correlations of the stiffness of the head of the epididymis to the ejaculate volume. CEUS identified blood flow differences between testes and some perfusion parameters correlated with sperm features. This comprehensive ultrasound assessment provides valuable insights into canine reproductive health, providing basis for further studies on dogs with abnormal sperm quality and with different fertility statuses.

Exposure to di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) during embryo development or lactation has been linked to reproductive toxicity. The ten-eleven translocation (TET) protein family plays a role in various pathological processes; however, its involvement in reproductive dysfunction in offspring mice exposed to DBP during gestation remains sparsely reported. In this study, SPF C57BL/6 pregnant mice were intragastrically administered DBP at doses of 0.

Objectives: to evaluate the association between exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and semen quality in young adulthood, with particular attention to different exposure metrics: serum and seminal concentrations of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorosulfonic acid (PFOS), foetal exposure, duration of exposure.

Design: cross-sectional study.

Setting And Participants: 1,000 subjects aged 18-35 years residing in the Veneto area with water contamination by PFAS, enrolled in the period 2022-2023; this interim analysis involves 507 subjects out of the 1,000 enrolled.

This study explores whether the current external quality assessment (EQA) level and acceptable bias for basic semen analysis in China are clinically useful. We collected data of semen EQA from Andrology laboratories in the Hunan Province (China) in 2022 and searched for data in the published literature from January 2000 to December 2023 in China. On the basis of these data, we analyzed the coefficients of variation and acceptable biases of different quality control materials for basic semen analysis through robust statistics.

Purpose: The quantitatively measured sperm DNA damage and disturbed chromatin condensation indexes (%DNA fragmentation index [DFI%] and %high DNA staining index [%HDS]) and their relationships with sperm quality in normospermic men with unexplained infertility were investigated. The aim was also highlighting the impact of age on both DFI and CMA3 staining and on sperm quality, and their associations with male infertility.

Methods: In this retrospective study, conventional semen tests, including sperm motility and morphological evaluations and DFI and disturbed chromatin condensation indexes (DFI, CMA3) were performed according to the World Health Organization (WHO) 2021 criteria.

Objective: To investigate the possible ability of homocysteine (Hcy) levels in embryo culture media for estimating better invitro fertilization outcomes in endometriosis patients.

Materials And Methods: Nineteen women with endometriosis who were admitted to Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Infertility Outpatient Clinic with the diagnosis of infertility were included in the study. The results of intracytoplasmic sperm injection treatments were recorded and Hcy levels in the embryo culture were evaluated.
