Gating is a fundamental and essential process in cytometry data analysis since it defines cell types of interest. Currently, there is no universally accepted method for representing and sharing gating strategies among software, publications, and repositories. I propose using the Prime Population system combined with a modified version of Gödel Numbers to identify any gating strategy uniquely. The Prime Population System is first used to identify gates on bivariate plots; successively, Gödel Numbers are used to set the sequence of the hierarchical gating strategy. The process results are unique identifiers for any existing and future gating strategy. The unique identifiers hold since according to the fundamental theorem of arithmetic, every natural number other than one either is a prime or is a product of prime numbers, and every nonprime number can be factored into a product of prime in only one way. This method represents a further step towards the arithmetization of cytometry metadata.

Introduction: Osteosarcoma, a highly aggressive bone cancer primarily affecting children and young adults, remains a significant challenge in clinical oncology. Metastasis stands as the primary cause of mortality in osteosarcoma patients. However, the mechanisms driving this process remain incompletely understood.

Objective: Early predicting response before neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is crucial for personalized treatment plans for locally advanced breast cancer patients. We aim to develop a multi-task model using multiscale whole slide images (WSIs) features to predict the response to breast cancer NAC more finely.
Methods: This work collected 1,670 whole slide images for training and validation sets, internal testing sets, external testing sets, and prospective testing sets of the weakly-supervised deep learning-based multi-task model (DLMM) in predicting treatment response and pCR to NAC.

Objective: Senile pruritus is a specific type of itching that occurs in elderly persons. Previously, we assessed antagonism of the nonselective ligand-gated cation channel transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1; capsaicin receptor or vanilloid receptor 1) and attenuation of atopic dermatitis by the non-steroidal TRPV1 antagonist PAC-14028 in clinical studies. The findings led us to postulate that PAC-14028 may also reduce itching in elderly people by antagonizing the TRPV1 pathway.

The opioid crisis has highlighted the urgent need for alternative pain management strategies. This review explores novel non-opioid targets and pathways involved in pain modulation, highlighting advancements in understanding and therapeutic potential. Pain, a multifaceted phenomenon with nociceptive, neuropathic, and inflammatory components, involves intricate molecular signaling cascades.

Objectives: Risk-based stratification approaches using measurable residual disease (MRD) successfully help to identify T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) patients at risk of relapse, whose treatment outcomes are very poor. Because of T-ALL heterogeneity and rarity, a reliable and standardized approach for flow cytometry (FC)-based MRD measurement and analysis is often missing.
Methods: Within the international AIEOP-BFM-ALL-FLOW study group we made a consensus on markers and a standard operating procedure for common 8- and 12-color T-ALL MRD panels.
