Introduction: Despite the biomechanical advantages of the Femoral Neck System (FNS), improvements in postoperative complication rates have not been significant. This study evaluated the effects of different FNS positions on the biomechanical stability of Pauwels type III femoral neck fractures (FNFs) using finite element analysis (FEA).

Methods: Pauwels type III FNF models fixed with different FNS positions were constructed using various bolt lengths, bolt positions, and axis-bolt angles.

Purpose: Weight-bearing computed tomography (WBCT) creates colour-coded distance maps (DM) to analyze intraarticular contact areas, offering a detailed assessment of joint surface interactions. However, clinical applications of DM remain underexplored. This study introduces the 'Battleship technique (BST)' to evaluate contact area patterns in patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the talar dome, producing a single point representing the distance map weighted sum (DMWS).

Background: Extra-articular fracture of the proximal tibia frequently results in functional impairment of the knee and lower limb if not managed properly. Any treatment method must achieve the desired anatomical reduction and stable fixation to permit early weight-bearing and joint motion. This type of fracture can be treated using a variety of methods, from conservative casting to surgical management.

This study aimed to quantify the sensitivity of a thoracolumbar musculoskeletal model with a flexible thoracic spine and articulated ribcage to disc flexural stiffness variation inherent from in-vitro cadaveric data. The model was personalized to a normal weight subject, whose upper body segmental masses and centers of mass were computed using a body-shape-based approach. Joint flexural stiffness curves were defined based on in-vitro flexion-extension moment-rotation data from several specimens taken at various thoracic levels, with stiffness variation reaching 1.
