The molecular mechanism of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in reducing cadmium (Cd) accumulation in plants remains unclear. In this respect, the effects of (Ri) inoculation under Cd stress on rice growth, the uptake of Cd along with other elements, and the expression of Cd transport genes, including , were studied using wild-type (WT) and mutant rice. The results showed that Ri inoculation did not affect rice growth. The uptake of Cd of the mutant was much lower than the WT, as 27.6%, 17.5%, and 39.9% of Cd were noted in the grains, shoots, and roots, respectively. For the WT, Cd alone significantly promoted the expression in shoots, but Ri inoculation significantly suppressed expression and significantly reduced its grain and shoot Cd by 44.4% and 62.3%, respectively, compared to the Cd alone treatment. In contrast, for the mutant, Ri inoculation did not influence expression or the grain and shoot Cd. Furthermore, the expression of other Cd transporters (, , ) in both varieties were not changed under the treatments. In conclusion, Ri inoculating significantly reduced Cd uptake by rice, with the molecular mechanism by negative regulation of expression of the gene.

DNA polymerase β, a member of the X-family of DNA polymerases, undergoes complex regulations both in vitro and in vivo through various posttranslational modifications, including phosphorylation and methylation. The impact of these modifications varies depending on the specific amino acid undergoing alterations. In vitro, methylation of DNA polymerase β with the enzyme protein arginine methyltransferase 6 (PRMT6) at R83 and R152 enhances polymerase activity by improving DNA binding and processivity.

The primary extraction way for unconventional oil/gas resources is hydraulic fracturing to alter the reservoir for commercial production. However, hydraulic fracturing technology consumes a large amount of water, and the flowback water can easily be mixed with hydrocarbon substances to form emulsions. To achieve the recycling of water, it is necessary to develop an efficient continuous demulsification method for treating the flowback fluid.

Water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica Forsk.) is an important leaf vegetable affected by salt stress, however, little is known about its salt adaption mechanism. Here, we integrated physiomics, ionomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics to analyze the root adaptation response of two water spinach varieties, BG (salt-tolerant) and MF (salt-sensitive), at 150 mM NaCl.

Chloroplasts are vital for photosynthesis, and their development necessitates proper expression of chloroplast genes. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying rice chloroplast gene expression have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we obtained an albino mutant of rice, white seedling and lethal 1 (wsl1), which displays significantly decreased chlorophyll contents and impaired chloroplast ultrastructure.
