In recent years, electroencephalogram (EEG)-based emotion recognition technology has made remarkable advances. However, a subtle but crucial problem caused by the sliding window method has long been overlooked, which is the serious quantity mismatch between stimuli and short-term EEG frames. This may be an important factor limiting the performance of the emotion recognition systems.

Purpose: Gastric cancer patients often experience significant fear of recurrence, impacting their physical and mental health. This study explores how time perspective influences fear of cancer recurrence, considering the roles of intrusive rumination and catastrophizing.
Methods: A cross-sectional design was employed with 394 gastric cancer patients.

Asthma is a prevalent chronic respiratory condition with multifactorial pathogenesis. Emerging evidence suggests that gut microbiota and their metabolites influence asthma risk. This study explores the mediation effects of plasma metabolites between gut microbiota and asthma using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.

Background: While existing research has established a link between dietary habits and the incidence of intracranial aneurysms, the application of Mendelian randomization to explore this association remains largely uncharted.
Methods: In our study, we analyzed a wide array of dietary factors using data from the IEU Open GWAS project, which included meat varieties, vegetarian foods, cereal and the frequency of alcohol intake. We included pooled intracranial aneurysm GWAS data from a comprehensive dataset of 7,495 cases.

The increase in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and its progression to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a worldwide healthcare challenge. Heterogeneity between men and women in the prevalence and mechanisms of MASLD and MASH is related to differential sex hormone signalling within the liver, and declining hormone levels during aging. In this study we used biochemically characterised pluripotent stem cell derived 3D liver spheres to model the protective effects of testosterone and estrogen signalling on metabolic liver disease 'in the dish'.
