This report presents the case of a girl in early adolescence with symptoms suggestive of Papillon-Lefèvre syndrome (PLS) who remained undetected with poorly managed periodontitis until the advanced stage of alveolar resorption, leading to multiple tooth loss due to periodontitis. All remaining teeth had grade III mobility and negligible alveolar support, necessitating extraction. Conventional complete dentures were provided for functional and aesthetic rehabilitation. The literature review conducted to evaluate various dental treatment strategies and their outcomes for patients diagnosed with PLS at the deciduous or mixed dentition stage indicates that periodontal debridement with regular supportive periodontal therapy, antibiotic regimens and oral hygiene maintenance reinforcement can preserve teeth until late adolescence.

Aim: This review aims to summarize the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, management, prognosis and regression of Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) with a view to providing directions for standardized diagnosis, treatment and further research.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature review of NLE. NLE-related peer-reviewed papers were searched through PubMed/Medline were searched up to November 2024.

Background And Aims: The relationship between irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and structural changes in various regional cortical areas remains unclear. Mendelian randomization (MR) was used to explore the potential association between IBS and Structural Brain Changes.
Methods: Genetically independent loci associated with IBS in individuals of European ancestry were selected as instrumental variants (IVs) in the large-scale genome-wide association studies (GWAS).

Aims: The prevalences of aortic stenosis (AS) and transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) increase with age. Identification of occult ATTR-CM in patients with AS can help explain out-of-proportion myocardial dysfunction, aid in prognostication and prompt initiation of disease-modifying treatment. Studies have suggested that many patients referred for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) have concomitant ATTR-CM, but some have included unverified ATTR-CM in patients with ambiguous scintigrams.

Introduction: currently there are changes in lifestyle that have been modifying the nutritional culture, moving away from the Mediterranean diet (DMed) and acquiring a more sedentary lifestyle, a fact that has contributed to a significant increase in risk factors. (CVRF) such as obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), and consequently to a global increase in metabolic syndrome (MS) and cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which in the 21st century reinforces being the first cause of morbidity and mortality To reduce this pandemic, a multidisciplinary approach is required focused on the application of primary and secondary prevention strategies for modifiable CVRFs, focused on nutritional promotion and education through the promotion of a healthier lifestyle and diet from childhood, as the one that encompasses the MedD. This dietary pattern, together with physical exercise, has been shown to contribute to the primary and secondary prevention of DM2 and coexisting CVRF.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect on anterior chamber depth (ACD) and postoperative refractive prediction error (PE) of capsular tension ring (CTR) implantation during phacoemulsification in pseudoexfoliative (PEX) eyes.
Methods: Prospective case-control study of eyes submitted to uneventful cataract surgery, divided into three study groups: Group 1 - controls; Group 2 - PEX eyes without CTR implantation; Group 3 - PEX eyes with CTR implantation. Biometric data including ACD were measured preoperatively and 1-month postoperatively, using swept-source anterior segment optical coherence tomography (ANTERION, Heidelberg Engineering), and endothelial cell density (ECD) with specular microscopy.
