A xenobiotic-degrader and heavy metal-tolerant Microbacterium sp. strain Clip185 was isolated from a contaminated Tris-Acetate-Phosphate medium culture plate of a green micro-alga, . Here, we report the complete genome sequence of this strain to provide insights into its metabolic potential and nearest taxonomic neighbor.

The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has led to a global public health crisis. The nucleocapsid (N) protein plays a pivotal role in a variety of biological processes in the life cycle of SARS-CoV-2, such as viral assembly. In this study, we investigated the liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) capacity of the N protein of seven SARS-CoV-2 strains, including the variants of concern (VOC) and interest (VOI), and its impact on viral replication.

Duck Associated Chapparvovirus (DaChPV) is a newly discovered virus within the Chaphamparvovirus genus, and first identified from Canadian wild ducks in 2021. In this study, DaChPV DNA was detected in 14 out of 137 tissues samples collected from diarrhea ducks across various provinces in China. Subsequently, eight complete genome sequences were amplified using overlapping primers and sequenced.

Protocol for chromatin immunoprecipitation of chromatin-binding proteins in Schizosaccharomyces pombe using a dual-crosslinking approach.

Single-crosslink chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) is often ineffective at mapping the binding sites of chromatin-binding proteins that indirectly interact with DNA. Here, we present a protocol to map the genomic occupancy of different chromatin regulators and an RNA exosome adapter subunit in Schizosaccharomyces pombe using dual-crosslinking ChIP. We describe steps for cell growth, dual-crosslinking, cell lysis, sonification, and immunoprecipitation.

Electronic address:

G-quadruplexes are four-stranded nucleic acid structures that play vital roles in regulating gene expression, maintaining genomic stability, and supporting various biological processes. This protocol details their formation from double-stranded DNA via in vitro transcription. It includes steps for selecting suitable DNA templates, assembling necessary components (such as RNA polymerase, nucleotides, and buffers), setting optimal incubation conditions, and performing dimethyl sulfate (DMS) footprinting to analyze the structures.

Characterization of a betaendornavirus isolated from the edible fungus Morchella sextelata.

Arch Virol

March 2025

State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, Hubei Hongshan Laboratory, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, Hubei, 430070, China.

A positive-sense single-stranded RNA mycovirus was isolated from Morchella sextelata strain ZY-1 and designated as "Morchella sextelata endornavirus 1" (MsEV1). The complete genome of MsEV1 was found to be 16,589 nucleotides (nt) in length and to contain a single large open reading frame (ORF) encoding the viral proteins PRK00409, transmethylase, DEXDc, helicase, and RdRP in a polyprotein of 5,477 amino acids. Phylogenetic analysis based on RdRP nucleotide sequences revealed that this endornavirus is a member of the genus Betaendornavirus in the family Endornaviridae.
