T.Shuai, Lei Cai & Z.K.Wu, a new species of Primulaceae from Sichuan, China, is described and illustrated. Morphological evidence supports as a member of P.sect.Cortusoides, which is characterised by lack of farina, generally well furnished with multicellular hairs, subrounded leaf blades are more or less lobed, with distinct petiole and a deeply cordate base and campanulate or narrowly campanulate calyx not accrescent after anthesis. The new species is characterised by having umbel in whorls of 1-2, scape usually lower than leaf clusters, bracts broadly ovate and rose to pink petals distinctly veined. The distribution, morphological comparison with closely-related species and conservation status of the new species are also provided.

The Outstanding Ambiphilicity of Trialkylstibines among Trialkylpnictines: Power for Stepwise Deoxygenation and N-N Coupling of Nitroarenes.

The ongoing discovery of highly reactive ambiphilic main-group species has significantly advanced the development of main-group chemistry, particularly in the realms of small molecule activation and catalysis. Theoretically, compounds featuring smaller HOMO-LUMO gaps gain stronger ambiphilicity and higher reactivity. In this work, we fundamentally demonstrate that MeSb holds the smallest HOMO-LUMO gap among trimethylpnictines, indicating its outstanding ambiphilicity.

Background: Observational studies have shown that ocular manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are common extraintinal manifestations, among which iridocyclitis, scleritis and episcleritis are the most common. However, whether there is a causal relationship between the two is unclear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the causality of IBD on ocular manifestations using the mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.

Electricity-Efficient On-Demand Photothermal Activation for Tunable Thermochromic Windows.

Nano Lett

March 2025

National Engineering Laboratory for Clean Technology of Leather Manufacture, College of Biomass Science and Engineering, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610065, China.

Thermochromic (TC) windows with passively controlled sunlight regulation have demonstrated significant building energy conservations. Realizing the active control of the TC window can expand its popularity while remaining an intractable challenge. Herein, a low-power-dissipative strategy that endows TC windows with an actively tunable transmittance is presented through the electro-induced tunable photothermal conversions (ETPCs).

Mendelian randomization and mediation analysis reveal the role of immune cell subsets in the causal pathways between blood cell perturbation responses and rheumatoid arthritis.

Clin Rheumatol

March 2025

Laboratory of Human Anatomy, School of Basic Medicine Anatomy , Southwest Medical University, Xianglin Road, Longmatan District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, China.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by complex immune interactions. Elucidating the causal relationships between blood cell perturbations, immune cell subsets, and RA can provide valuable insights into its pathogenesis.

Methods: This study employed bidirectional two-sample Mendelian Randomization (MR) to explore the causal effects of blood cell perturbations on RA risk, with a focus on immune cell mediation.
