NaVCrTi(PO) with multi-electron redox reactions is designed for high-energy-density sodium-ion batteries. The partial Cr substitution achieves high-potential V activation, achieving an ultra-high capacity of 183.07 mA h g at 20 mA g with 89% retention after 1500 cycles at 1 A g. Combined theoretical and experimental analyses confirm the activation mechanism of the V/V redox couple after Cr doping.

The reaction between [VO(acac)] and two valproic acid hydrazide ligands, H2L1 and H2L2, resulted in the formation of two mononuclear dioxido complexes [V(O)HL] (1, 2) in acetonitrile, two oxidomethoxido complexes [VO(L)(OMe)(OHMe)] (3, 4) in methanol and the corresponding dinuclear μ-oxidodivanadium complexes [{VOL} μ-O] (5, 6) in dichloromethane. Here, H2L1 is the valproic acid hydrazone of salicylaldehyde and H2L2 is that of 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde. X-ray crystallographic studies revealed the dual binding mode of the ligands, the neutral amido form in the dioxido complex 1 and the dianionic iminolato form in the oxidomethoxido complex 3.

New derivatives of [4]dendralene with redox-active 1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene units were synthesized. X-ray crystal structure analysis of the dibenzo-tetramethyl derivative revealed that the molecule takes a conformation in which two vinyl-extended TTF moieties are significantly inclined to each other. The octamethyl derivative underwent cyclization with skeletal rearrangement in the dicationic state to give the corresponding dicationic trimethylenecylopentene, which exhibited a simultaneous two-electron reduction wave at a significantly negative potential of -0.

The transformation of hypoglycin A (HGA), hypoglycin B (HGB), and methylene cyclopropyl glycine (MCPrG) in ruminal fluid batch cultures was investigated, and the effect of these toxins on the batch culture microorganisms using microbial metabolites was measured. An experiment was conducted using ovine ruminal fluid batch cultures and the ANKOM RF Gas Production System over four runs, each with an incubation period of 48 h. The fermenters contained 200 mg of (i) a substrate mixture (80% cellulose, 20% starch; CSM), (ii) CSM and 1.

Polyoxovanadate-alkoxides are a growing family of earth-abundant first-row transition metal polynuclear species highly promising for their tunable redox properties. The speciation and nucleation chemical space of these species is divided into two groups: 1) fully oxidized V(V) monomeric precursors that aggregate into Lindqvist-type clusters and 2) reduced V(IV) precursors forming cyclic structures. The nucleation of cyclic polyoxovanadate-alkoxides with varying alkyl chain lengths, the impact of the presence of templating anions, and their subsequent evolution to the Lindqvist-type congener were studied by using density functional theory.

: The lack of new antimicrobial drugs and increased antimicrobial resistance has focused attention on the employment of essential oils (EOs) in human and veterinary medicine. The aim of this study was to test new binary associations between known and uncommon EOs. : EOs from L.
