Currently, no data are available using standardized instruments for evaluating the postpartum mental health of women with previous bariatric surgery. The aim of this pilot study was to assess postpartum mental health in women following bariatric surgery and to establish appropriate tools for a prospective registry study in the future. In this survey, the mental health of 22 women during the first weeks postpartum was examined (T1) and their status at least 6 months after childbirth was prospectively assessed (T2).

Broiler breeder fertility is the bedrock on which modern broiler production rests. Over the last decade, fertility and hatchability issues have emerged as key topics of interest for both breeders and producers. In this study, we took an analytical approach to interrogate declining fertility trends among U.

The accurate estimation of methane generation in landfills is crucial for effective greenhouse gas management and energy recovery, requiring site-specific assessments due to the inherent variability in waste composition and properties before and after disposal. This study investigates the uncertainties associated with methane generation predictions by employing a combination of stoichiometric methods, Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) assays, and Bayesian inference. Fresh and aged (1-year-old and 5-year-old) samples collected in the tropical Saravan dump site in Gilan, Iran, were used to evaluate the waste's methane generation potential and degradation rate in the field.

Uterine rupture constitutes a critical obstetric emergency that presents substantial risks to both the maternal and fetal populations. This investigation evaluated the surgical interventions available for uterine rupture, emphasizing laparoscopic repair subsequent to uterine rupture. Laparoscopic repair serves as a fertility-sustaining alternative to conventional laparotomy, demonstrating comparable operative durations of 80 min (interquartile range [IQR] 60-114) for laparoscopic procedures versus 78 min (IQR 58-114) for laparotomy interventions.

Objective: To evaluate the necessity of postoperative antibiotics following appendectomy for acute appendicitis, particularly in patients with intra-abdominal fluid, and to identify factors associated with postoperative infections.
Background: Postoperative antibiotic use after appendectomy remains controversial, especially in the presence of intra-abdominal fluid. While some surgeons prescribe antibiotics empirically, there is no consensus on whether they reduce the risk of postoperative infections in patients with intra-abdominal fluid accumulation.
