Introduction: Inflammatory diseases have been associated with increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). However, data on VTE is lacking in large population-based cohorts of microscopic colitis (MC).
Methods: This study included all Swedish adults with incident MC without prior VTE (1990-2017; n=12,489; follow-up until 2021).

(CUM) possesses various biological effects, including anti-inflammatory, intestinal microbiota regulatory, and immunomodulatory activities. However, there has been little exploration regarding the effects of CUM on ulcerative colitis (UC). Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the beneficial effects of CUM on alleviating dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced UC in mice and to explore the potential underlying mechanisms.

Patients with long-standing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) involving the colon are at higher risk of developing colorectal dysplastic or neoplastic lesions. While from sporadic colorectal cancer follows an "adenoma-carcinoma" sequence, IBD colitis-associated carcinogenesis is mainly related to an "inflammation-dysplasia-carcinoma" sequence. Currently, specific endoscopic surveillance strategies involving dye spray and virtual chromoendoscopy have been standardized, aiming for early CRC diagnosis.

While laparoscopic surgery has been widely adopted, robotic surgery has emerged as a promising alternative, particularly for complex pelvic dissection. However, the robotic learning curve presents significant challenges.

Single-wavelength endoscopy (SWE) has shown promising results in assessing histological disease activity in ulcerative colitis. Our objective was to validate the real-time performance of a bedside prototype of SWE computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) as proof of concept.A bedside module for real-time use evaluated histological disease activity when endoscopy was performed in the rectum and sigmoid based on white-light endoscopy and SWE (410 nm monochromatic light).
