Pancreatic pseudocysts are a complication of both acute and chronic pancreatitis that usually develop four to six weeks from the onset of pancreatitis. Alcoholic pancreatitis is the most important risk factor for developing such cysts, although non-alcoholic cases do also occur. This is the case of a 58-year-old male patient who presented to our emergency department with a two-day history of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and inability to tolerate oral food and liquids.

Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) is an uncommon autosomal dominant disorder that manifests as mucocutaneous pigmentation and hamartomatous polyps in the gastrointestinal system. Pigmentation of the skin and mucous membranes may be present from birth, but it typically appears in early childhood and can sometimes develop later. In addition to an increased lifelong risk of cancers and problems, such as gastrointestinal bleeding from polyposis, hamartomatous polyps can develop in the stomach, small bowel, or colon.

This article examines the emergency surgical management of giant bilateral inguinoscrotal hernias through a representative case report. In this case, surgical intervention was required due to an associated cecal volvulus. While acute complications such as bowel strangulation are rare in hernias of this size, delayed presentation and the lack of timely surgical consultation permit significant inguinoscrotal hernia growth.

Background: Retroperitoneal cysts are rare, accounting for less than 1% of retroperitoneal tumors. Idiopathic giant unilocular retroperitoneal cysts are even more uncommon, with very few reported cases. Their diagnosis and management are particularly challenging in resource-limited settings due to restricted access to advanced imaging and surgical techniques.
