Recent studies challenge the assumption that human-artificial intelligence (AI) collaboration is universally optimal, highlighting tasks where AI alone outperforms combined efforts. This viewpoint discusses the reasons behind these findings, explores influences on synergy and emphasises the importance of identifying when clinicians add net benefit to AI performance. Maximising patient outcomes may require accepting AI autonomy in certain scenarios within healthcare practice.

The aim of the study was to determine the test-retest reliability of MMN and LDN recorded to simple speech contrasts in children with listening difficulties. MMN and LDN responses were recorded from Fz and Cz electrodes for a /da/-/ga/ contrast twice within a 10-day period. To extract MMN and LDN, auditory-evoked responses to /ga/ stimuli presented alone were subtracted from the responses to /ga/ presented within an oddball sequence.

We aimed to study the incidence of vascular dementia (VD) and other dementias in a defined population in Finland to better understand VD's contribution to the total incidence of dementias and to assess the sensitivity of their diagnostics.
Methods: We aimed to collect all dementia diagnoses made in Northern Savo, Finland, in 2020.

This study aimed to rank dry off interventions for the prevention of new intramammary infections (IMI) and the cure of existing IMI in quarters of dry cows using two network meta-analyses. Randomized controlled trials reported in 137 papers were assessed for inclusion eligibility. Network meta-analyses were performed separately for the incidence risk of IMI and cure risk of IMI.

Purpose: Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) combined with lenvatinib (Len) and immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) in treating advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) still needs further confirmation. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of HAIC combined with Len and ICI (HAIC + Len + ICI) versus Len alone in advanced HCC.
Methods: A total of 290 patients in Len group and 349 patients in HAIC + Len + ICI group were analysed.

Aim: The incidence of intrahepatic distant recurrence (IDR) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) still remains high after radiofrequency ablation (RFA). However, serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) has insufficient screening power. This study aimed to identify risk factors for IDR in patients with post-RFA HCC.
