Aneurysms of arteries of the hand are rarely encountered. Literature reports such aneurysms in the distal ulnar artery, the palmar artery, and the digital arteries. Most are false aneurysms involving trauma-induced defects of the vessel wall. True aneurysms with intact intimal, medial, and adventitial layers of the arterial wall are more unusual. In this case report, we present a 77-year-old previously healthy lady who was diagnosed with a true aneurysm of a common digital artery when she presented with a pulsatile lump over her left palm.

Objectives: This study evaluates a staged selective hybrid approach for acute type A aortic dissection. The approach involves a zone 2 aortic arch replacement with debranching of the brachiocephalic trunk and left common carotid artery to create a landing zone for thoracic endovascular aortic repair. This repair is performed either preemptively in the subacute phase to promote remodelling or electively in the chronic phase to manage aneurysm formation.

Human circulation exhibits significant diversity and heterogeneity of blood vessel shapes. The complex architecture of these vessels may be physiological or pathological resulting in unique hemodynamics and endothelial cell phenotypes that may determine the regulation and alteration of cell signaling pathways and vascular function. While human microphysiological systems of blood vessels (vessel-chips) have mimicked several aspects of vascular pathophysiology, engineering of these tools is still limited to the fabrication of homogeneous tubular structures, especially when living endothelial cell culture is also included.

Infectious intracranial aneurysms and embolic strokes are common neurological complications in patients with infective endocarditis. Diagnostic cerebral angiograms are often performed prior to cardiac valve repair if an infectious intracranial aneurysm or intracranial hemorrhage is suspected. We report a unique case of a patient with endocarditis who experienced an embolic stroke that resulted in large-vessel occlusion (LVO) of the middle cerebral artery during a diagnostic cerebral angiogram.
