Aviophobia, that is, fear of flying, is a common type of anxiety disorder. Benzodiazepines are used in the treatment of anxiety. Liraglutide is a treatment for obesity or overweight in combination with weight-related comorbidity. We present the case of a 23-year-old woman with overweight and aviophobia, who used clonazepam as antianxious protection when flying. When taking liraglutide shortly before clonazepam the efficacy of clonazepam seemed absent as the patient experienced a panic attack at the airport. This finding suggests that liraglutide may interfere with clonazepam and reduce its effect. Further research is needed to establish this association.

Intestinal pseudo-obstruction caused by aerophagia is predominantly observed in children with developmental delays, and adult cases are rare. Cases are typically managed symptomatically because there are no known effective treatments. We report here a successful response to intestinal pseudo-obstruction in an adult patient presenting with chronic abdominal distention.

Epilepsy and autism often co-occur in genetic developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs), but their underlying neurobiological processes remain poorly understood, complicating treatment. Advances in molecular genetics and understanding the neurodevelopmental pathogenesis of the epilepsy-autism phenotype may lead to mechanism-based treatments for children with DEEs and autism. Several genes, including the newly reported PPFIA3, MYCBP2, DHX9, TMEM63B, and RELN, are linked to various neurodevelopmental and epileptic disorders, intellectual disabilities, and autistic features.

While multiple oral medications are used to treat dystonia, limited information exists on current prescribing practices. This study analyzes real-world prescribing practices for pediatric dystonia in the United States, evaluating prescription frequency, dosing, and the impact of comorbidities. Oracle electronic health record real-world data were queried from 2014 to 2019 for encounters of patients under age 18 with a dystonia diagnosis and available medication records.
