Ileal bezoars usually occur secondary to gastric bezoars, gastric or bowel surgery, or lumen-narrowing lesions of the ileum. Primary ileal bezoars, being rare, are diagnosed only after excluding secondary causes. Ileal duplication associated with bezoar has seldom been reported.

Objective: To compare functional and surgical outcomes of robot-assisted ileal ureter replacement (RAIUR) vs robot-assisted kidney autotransplantation (RAKAT).

Patients And Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of patients who underwent RAIUR or RAKAT for long ureteric strictures at eight European tertiary centres (2017-2024). Primary endpoints were maintenance of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and postoperative complications within 30 days of surgery, described using the Clavien-Dindo classification.

Background: Anastomosis creation using a novel magnetic compression technique may provide an alternative minimally invasive approach to gastrointestinal surgery. The biofragmentable magnetic anastomosis system (BMAS) is endo-laparoscopically placed to effect magnetic duodeno-ileostomy (MagDI) bipartition for reduction of weight and type 2 diabetes (T2D). MagDI obviates major risks associated with enterotomy, stapling/suturing, and retained foreign materials.

Among the rare and complex causes of acute intestinal occlusion: volvulus due to the ileosigmoid node. The latter is secondary to the terminal ileum which will wrap around the base of the sigmoid colon and its meso, resulting in the formation of a node. Its natural evolution is the ischemia of the ileum and sigmoid, necessitating prompt emergency surgical intervention as the primary treatment approach.

Introduction And Importance: Obturator hernia is a rare abdominal wall hernia (<1 % incidence) that occurs through the obturator foramen, often in elderly, emaciated women. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) of the abdomen and pelvis is the diagnostic modality of choice, with a high accuracy of 78 %-100 %.

Case Presentation: An 84-year-old frail woman with COPD presented with generalized abdominal pain, abdominal distention, vomiting, and right thigh pain.

Cattle diseases are considered a major threat to wood bison (Bison bison athabascae) conservation. Johne's disease (JD) is a chronic infectious enteritis caused by Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (Map), that affects domestic and wild ruminants globally and could negatively impact wood bison health. Clinical manifestation of JD in free-ranging or captive wood bison has not been documented.
