This case study highlights the critical need for radiographic imaging in the military medical field, especially for diagnosing orthopedic injuries. The absence of on-site X-ray equipment can lead to patient transport, resource expenditure, and misdiagnosis. This study presents a practical solution through the use of lightweight and portable X-ray systems, as employed by explosive ordnance disposal teams, which not only reduce transport time and resources but also offer high-quality imaging with low radiation risk. Alternative diagnostic tools like ultrasound are also discussed, emphasizing their limitations in terms of user-dependency and precision. In conclusion, the adoption of portable X-ray systems can significantly enhance patient safety, diagnostic capabilities, and overall force readiness in forward-deployed medical teams.

Early diagnosis of muscle wasting in critically ill patients with acute kidney injury requiring continuous kidney replacement therapy (AKI-CKRT) may improve outcomes timely rehabilitation and nutrition. Muscle ultrasound (MUS) has recently gained traction for assessing muscle atrophy in the intensive care unit (ICU) but requires training to achieve reproducibility. Anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) sprain is one of the most prevalent sports-related injuries, so proper evaluation of ligament sprains is critical for treatment options. However, existing tests suffer from a lack of standardized quantitative evaluation criteria, interindividual variability, incompatible materials, or risks of infection. Although advanced medical diagnostic methods already have been using noninvasive, portable, and wearable diagnostic electronics, these devices have insufficient adhesion to accurately respond to internal body injuries.
