The leaching of toxic metals is still problematic for heterogeneous metal catalysts in activating peracetic acid (PAA). Herein, CoFe/U-ZrO was synthesized by loading CoFe onto the metal-organic framework (UiO-66) derived ZrO (U-ZrO) for PAA activation. The high porosity and specific surface area of UiO-66 enable efficient embedding and uniform dispersion of CoFe particles into pore channels.

In this study, sodium alginate/sodium hydroxymethyl cellulose (SA/CMC)-based biodegradable membranes cross-linked with propylene glycol (PG) and incorporated with ascorbic acid (AA) were synthesized. The color, morphology, water vapor permeability (WVP), and antioxidant capacity of every kind of membrane were investigated. The morphological characterization affirmed that the resultant blend membranes exhibited a well-organized homogeneous structure without cracks.

This study explores how synthesis temperature influences the properties and functionalities of sulfur‑nitrogen doped carbon dots (S,N-doped CDs) derived from citric acid and cysteine. The focus lies on their potential in bionanocomposite films for active packaging. Bionanocomposite films were prepared by incorporating CDs synthesized at different temperatures (160, 180, and 200 °C) into a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) matrix.

Dyes are known to pose environmental threats due to their mutagenic and persistent effects. To address this concern, researchers have explored various unconventional dye degradation materials, such as metal oxides with carbon materials. However, challenges related to degradation efficiency and regeneration have been significant obstacles.

Stable radicals are spin-active species with a plethora of proposed applications in fields from energy storage and molecular electronics to quantum communications. However, their optical properties and vibrational modes are so far not well understood. Furthermore, it is not yet clear how these are affected by the radical oxidation state, which is key to understanding their electronic transport.
