Coronavirus Disease 2019, caused by severe acute respiratory coronavirus 2, has been an ever-evolving disease and pandemic, profoundly impacting clinical care, drug treatments, and understanding. In response to this global health crisis, there has been an unprecedented increase in research exploring new and repurposed drugs and advancing available clinical interventions and treatments. Given the widespread interest in this topic, this review aims to provide a current summary-for interested professionals not specializing in COVID-19-of the clinical characteristics, recommended treatments, vaccines, prevention strategies, and epidemiology of COVID-19. The review also offers a historical perspective on the pandemic to enhance understanding.

Delayed inflammatory nodules (DIN) after soft-tissue filler injection may occur after infections, vaccinations, or procedures. We report a DIN from predominantly low-molecular-weight HA (PLMW-HA) filler secondary to COVID-19 infection that was resistant to conservative management, requiring intralesional combination therapy with triamcinolone, 5-fluorouracil, and recombinant human hyaluronidase for resolution.

Background: To demonstrate the application and utility of geostatistical modelling to provide comprehensive high-resolution understanding of the population's protective immunity during a pandemic and identify pockets with sub-optimal protection.
Methods: Using data from a national cross-sectional household survey of 6620 individuals in the Dominican Republic (DR) from June to October 2021, we developed and applied geostatistical regression models to estimate and predict Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike (anti-S) antibodies (Ab) seroprevalence at high resolution (1 km) across heterogeneous areas.
Results: Spatial patterns in population immunity to SARS-CoV-2 varied across the DR.

Objectives: To quantify access to health services during the COVID-19 pandemic and measure the change in use between the prepandemic and the pandemic periods in a population with assessment of psychological distress or diagnosis of mental disorders.
Data Sources: We developed and piloted a search syntax and adapted it to enter the following databases from 1 January 2020 to 31 March 2023: PubMed/MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Epistemonikos and the WHO International Clinical Trials Registry Platform. We reran the searches from the end of the original search to 3 December 2024.
