Tailored technical assistance enhances patient and provider engagement and hypertension control in community health centers. Addressing each center's particular needs, the approach described here focused on self-measured blood pressure monitoring, training, and skills-building, and strengthening community-clinic linkages. Painful diabetic neuropathy (PDN) is a common complication in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with disruption of vitamin D (VD) activity as one of the risk factors. Active VD exerts its biological functions through the vitamin D receptor (VDR), which polymorphisms in the VDR gene can impair. This study aims to establish VDR FokI and ApaI polymorphisms as risk factors for PDN.

Introduction: Acute variceal bleeding from portal hypertension is one of the most serious complications with a mortality rate of 15% to 25%. Terlipressin is a vasopressor that controls variceal bleeding by lowering the portal pressure and reducing blood flow to the varices.
Case Presentation: We report a case of a patient with acute variceal bleeding, treated endoscopically and with terlipressin, who developed severe hyponatremia and seizures requiring admission to intensive care.

Background: Cerebral microbleeds (CMB) signal cerebral small vessel disease and are associated with ischemic stroke. While illicit drug use (IDU) is linked to cerebral vasculopathy, the association between CMB and IDU is poorly characterized.
Aims: Our primary aim was to explore the relationship between IDU and CMB and delineate differences in vascular risk factors between those with and without CMB.
