The current piston material, Al-12Si, lacks sufficient passivation in the acidic lubrication system of biodiesel engines, making it prone to corrosion in the presence of Cl. Fe amorphous particles exhibit good compatibility with Al-12Si, possessing strong corrosion resistance, excellent passivation ability, and good high-temperature stability. They are a potential reinforcement for enhancing the Al-12Si piston material.

Objectives: Although various stapedotomy and stapedectomy techniques exist, anchoring the piston can be challenging. We present a novel surgical approach for treating congenital stapes malformations with an atypical facial nerve trajectory.
Methods: This is a case of a 7-year-old boy presenting with bilateral conductive hearing loss.

The high-pressure die-casting process can effectively manufacture aluminium alloy castings with complex shapes and thin wall thicknesses. However, due to the complex flow characteristics of the liquid metal during the mould-filling process, there are significant differences in the mechanical properties of different parts of the casting. This paper analyses the effect of the high-speed ram transition position on porosity and mechanical properties of Al-Si-Mn-Mg aluminium alloys in the high-pressure die-casting (HPDC) process, comparing the 1160 mm and 1200 mm positions.

This study explores the integration of nanotechnology and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) machine learning algorithms to enhance the understanding and optimization of fuel spray dynamics in compression ignition (CI) engines with varying bowl geometries. The incorporation of nanotechnology, through the addition of nanoparticles to conventional fuels, improves fuel atomization, combustion efficiency, and emission control. Simultaneously, LSTM models are employed to analyze and predict the complex spray behavior under diverse operational and geometric conditions.

This paper presents an experimentally based study aimed at assessing the viability of employing a commercial energy harvester to develop a self-powered end-stroke and speed sensor for pneumatic cylinders. An energy-harvesting device was integrated into a cylinder end-cap to recover energy from the piston impact at the end of the stroke. The recovered energy powers a radio transmitter that communicates the reach of the end-stroke.
