Objective: To assess the efficacy of local volume reduction of the dorsal glans groove in hypospadias repair with small glans.
Methods: This retrospective comparative study included 107 children treated between January 2017 and December 2020. Patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 (2017-2018) underwent onlay island flap urethroplasty alone, while Group 2 (2019-2020) underwent the procedure with additional local volume reduction of the dorsal glans groove. Hypospadias objective scoring evaluation (HOSE) scores and postoperative complications, including glans dehiscence, meatal stenosis, and urethrocutaneous fistula, were compared.
Results: The mean follow-up was 40 months (Group 1) and 32 months (Group 2). Urethrocutaneous fistula rates were 4% (Group 1) and 2% (Group 2; P = 1). Glans dehiscence occurred in 16% (Group 1) and 4% (Group 2; P = 0.0451). Meatal stenosis rates were 16% (Group 1) and 2% (Group 2; P = 0.0184). Overall success rates were 65% (Group 1) and 92% (Group 2; P = 0.0008). HOSE scores showed no significant difference (P = 0.219).
Conclusions: Local volume reduction of the dorsal glans groove significantly reduces postoperative complications in hypospadias repair with small glans.

Objectives: Although there has been rapid development in the field of three-dimensional morphological analyses of congenital heart disease, with the three-dimensional volume-rendered images providing visualization of the external vascular anatomy, the precise reproduction of "Swiss-cheese" ventricular septum is not well established. We created three-dimensional printed models and computer graphics based on multi-slice computed tomography of patients with complex multiple ventricular septal defects for surgical decision planning of this difficult cardiac defect.
Methods: Seven patients with complex multiple ventricular septal defects were evaluated preoperatively using three-dimensional printed models and computer graphics to plan therapeutic interventions.

Topically applied therapies must not only be effective at the molecular level but also efficiently access the target site which can be on milli/centimetre-scales. This bottleneck is particularly inhibitory for peptide and nucleic acid macromolecule drug delivery strategies, especially when aiming to target wounded, infected, and poorly perfused tissues of significant volume and geometry. Methods to drive fluid-flow or to enhance physical distribution of such formulations after local administration in accessible tissues (skin, eye, intestine) would be transformative in realizing the potential of such therapeutics.

Background: Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Llama and Claude are transforming healthcare by interpreting complex text, extracting information, and providing guideline-based support. Radiology, with its high patient volume and digital workflows, is a ideal field for LLM integration.
Objective: Assessment of the potential of LLMs to enhance efficiency, standardization, and decision support in radiology, while addressing ethical and regulatory challenges.

The lack of sensibility of traditional ultrasound (US) imaging to the slow blood flow in small vessels resulted in the development of microbubble (MB) contrast agents. These MBs are given intravenously, and US imaging can detect them quite effectively. This noninvasive imaging method, known as contrast-enhanced US (CEUS), now makes it possible to accurately assess tissue perfusion and blood flow.

The cage concept, a central microscopic mechanism for glassy dynamics, has been utilized in concentrated colloidal suspensions to describe a number of phenomena. Here, we probe the evolution of cage formation and shear elasticity with increasing volume fraction in hard sphere suspensions, with emphasis on the short-time dynamics. To this end, we utilize linear viscoelastic (LVE) measurements, by means of conventional rotational rheometers and a home-made HF piezo-rheometer, to probe the dynamic response over a broad range of volume fractions up to the very dense glassy regime in proximity to random close packing.
