In Japan, several workers were diagnosed with bladder cancer 10-40 years after exposure to 4,4'-methylenebis(2-chloroaniline) (MOCA), mainly through the skin. MOCA also induces bladder cancer in dogs and nonbladder (breast, liver, lung) cancers in rodents. MOCA with S9 fractions contains mutagenic metabolites after catalysis by N-acetyl transferase (NAT).

COMPARISON OF STENT GEOMETRY ACHIEVED BY DIFFERENT SIDE-BRANCH BALLOONING TECHNIQUES FOR BIFURCATION PROVISIONAL STENTING: THE CRABBIS TRIAL.

JACC Cardiovasc Interv

March 2025

Department of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Sciences, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy; Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS, Rome, Italy. Electronic address:

Background: "Stepwise provisional stenting" is the most adopted approach for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) in bifurcation lesions. During these procedures, side-branch (SB) may deserve treatment, but the best ballooning technique is still undetermined.

Objectives: To compare the stent configurations obtained by two SB ballooning sequences after the main vessel (MV) stent implantation: proximal-optimization-technique (POT)+kissing-balloon-inflation+final POT (PKP) versus POT+isolated-SB-dilation+final POT (PSP).

Pulmonology Disease and Critical Care, NCH (Naples Comprehensive Health) Healthcare System, Naples, USA.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors are rare benign mesenchymal neoplasms composed of myofibroblastic cells intermixed with an inflammatory infiltrate of cells including plasma cells, lymphocytes, and histiocytes. These tumors are commonly seen in children and are rare in adults. Management of these tumors is challenging due to their unpredictable behavior.

Based on the results of a multicenter phase II study of patients with previously treated thymic carcinoma, lenvatinib administration for unresectable thymic cancer has been covered under insurance in Japan since 2021. However, patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) were excluded from that study; therefore, the efficacy and safety of lenvatinib in these patients remain unknown. Herein, we report the case of a woman in her 50s who was diagnosed with thymic carcinoma complicated with ILD.

Percutaneous Cryoablation of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer in Patients with Recurrence After Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.

Cardiovasc Intervent Radiol

March 2025

Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, Section of Interventional Radiology, Yale School of Medicine, 330 Cedar Street, TE-2, New Haven, CT, USA.

Purpose: Evaluate safety and efficacy of lung cancer cryoablation in patients with stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) recurrence.

Materials And Methods: Between 9/2018 and 11/2023, all patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with lung cryoablation after SBRT recurrence were retrospectively identified. Histories of smoking, COPD, post-procedural pneumothorax, adverse events requiring immediate post-procedural hospitalization, and initiation/worsening of home oxygen requirements 3-6 months later were obtained.
