Background: Few studies have analyzed the association of factors contributing to the morphologic changes of medial osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLTs).
Methods: Two hundred eighty consecutive patients who underwent surgery for OLTs from January 2010 to December 2022 were enrolled. The potential association of factors were age, gender, side of injury, duration of symptoms, body mass index, history of ankle sprain, chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI), and ankle varus. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the association between these factors and both the size and Hepple classification of OLTs.
Results: Size of OLTs was associated with age 40-60 years (OR 2.14, 95% CI 1.08-4.25; = .029), age >60 years (OR 3.78, 95% CI 1.61-8.89; = .002), duration of symptom 1-3 years (OR 2.06, 95% CI 1.03-4.15; = .042), and duration of symptoms ≥3 years (OR 2.27, 95% CI 1.09-4.71; = .028). CLAI was negatively correlated with the size of OLTs (OR 0.30, 95% CI 0.17-0.54; < .001). Age >60 years was associated with Hepple V classification (OR 3.65, 95% CI 1.50-8.89; = .004).
Conclusion: In our cohort we found older age positively correlated with Hepple V classification. Increasing age and duration of symptom are positively associated with increasing size of medial OLTs, whereas CLAI was negatively correlated with the lesion size.

Background: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) presents a challenging spectrum of outcomes, often complicated by intrarenal arterial/arteriolar lesions (IALs) in affected individuals. Despite their clinical relevance, existing criteria for classifying and assessing the severity of these lesions remain undefined. This study aimed to establish semi-quantitative assessment criteria for grading IALs and to evaluate their prognostic significance in patients with IgAN.

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a heterogeneous condition with different risk factors, including family history. This study aimed to explore association between a family history of chronic airway disease and features and outcomes of COPD.
Methods: Participants were obtained from the RealDTC study between December 2016 and December 2022.

The global incidence of biliary tract cancer (BTC) is on the rise, presenting a substantial healthcare challenge. The integration of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) with molecularly targeted therapies is emerging as a strategy to enhance immune responses. However, the efficacy and underlying mechanisms of these treatments in BTC are still largely unexplored.

Climate change, driven by greenhouse gas emissions, has emerged as a pressing global ecological and environmental challenge. Our study is dedicated to exploring the various factors influencing greenhouse gas emissions from animal husbandry and predicting their future trends. To this end, we have analyzed data from China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region spanning from 1978 to 2022, aiming to estimate the carbon emissions associated with animal husbandry in the region.

Background: Chronic pruritus is the defining symptom of atopic dermatitis (AD). Although AD is common in Latin America, there is little data regarding pruritus intensity, characteristics, and effects on quality of life in this population.
Objective: This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate pruritus in 91 patients with AD at a tertiary university hospital in São Paulo, Brazil.
