Published: February 2025

NHS Sussex developed and piloted the 'Women's Wellbeing at Work' initiative for staff. Webinars and group consultations were carried out by specialist GPs to support and promote staff wellbeing. Aspects of cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention, the NHS cervical screening programme, the NHS breast screening programme, menopause and bone health were reviewed. The menopause was recognised as a turning point in a woman's health. Given the level of attendance and positive feedback, the pilot supported a need to offer education to support women's wellbeing, which can be delivered in the workplace. The feedback indicated the format of the education was helpful.

Despite the recognized connections, there remains a lack of empirical evidence delineating the implications of food insecurity on CVH. CVH, a broader concept than cardiovascular disease, encompasses the overall well-being of the cardiovascular system and is supported by favorable lifestyle choices and physiological metrics.
