The study focuses on the synthesis of FeO@SiO-NH-Au heterostructures with magneto-plasmonic properties composed of well-defined cubic FeO cores (79 nm) covered with 10 nm silica shell and gold nanoparticles (8 nm) fabricated on silica shell. The surface-anchored MHDA (16-mercaptohexadecanoic acid) linker facilitated cellulase bioconjugation, which was confirmed through Raman spectroscopy. The presence of gold nanoparticle islands on the heterostructure enabled surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), demonstrating the potential for bioactive substance identification. Immobilization of cellulase allowed for pH enhancement and enzyme thermal stability. The optimal pH shifted from 4.0 (free enzyme) to 6.0 while thermal stability increased by 20 °C. The immobilized cellulase kept its 49% activity after five hydrolysis cycles, compared to significantly lower activity for free cellulase. The proposed heterostructures for cellulase immobilization demonstrate potential for practical applications.

A programmable 2H-MoTe floating-gate field-effect transistor (FGFET)-based complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) array has been fabricated on the grown substrate. Coplanar grown metallic 1T'-MoTe serves as the source and drain electrodes. The conductive type of the 2H-MoTe channel is manipulated by a top-gate engineering method.

A bifunctional tubular step-scheme CoS/CdS heterostructure was successfully synthesized for efficient photoelectrochemical (PEC) detection coupled with the degradation of tetracycline (TC). It was found that so-obtained heterostructure could effectively suppress the recombination of photo-generated carriers and display larger PEC responses owing to the internal electrostatic field. Upon adding TC, the photocurrent signal of CoS/CdS heterostructure was specifically activated due to the direct consumption of holes in CdS component by TC, resulting in significantly enhanced charge separation.

This work investigates the plasmonic properties of a twisted bilayer graphene (TBG) and talc heterostructure. Talc, a naturally occurring phyllosilicate, promotes p-type charging of graphene, supporting high charge mobility and strong interaction between graphene plasmons and talc's phonon polaritons. This interaction results in the formation of surface plasmon-phonon polariton (SP) modes, which are detected using infrared scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (IR s-SNOM) at room temperature.

In this study, we construct a quantum well effect-based two-dimensional Z-scheme superlattice heteronanostructure photocatalyst constructed from hydrogen-bonded porphyrin organic frameworks (HOFs) and carbon nitride. Porphyrin HOFs extend spectral absorption, while their π-conjugation and electron density variations significantly enhance charge separation and exhibit favorable alignment with the energy levels of carbon nitride, thereby enabling efficient charge transfer. Carboxylic acid channels in the HOFs further promote the decomposition of water molecules, thereby boosting hydrogen production.

A key challenge for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) lies in identifying suitable host materials capable of accommodating large Na ions while addressing sluggish chemical kinetics. The unique interfacial effects of heterogeneous structures have emerged as a critical factor in accelerating charge transfer and enhancing reaction kinetics. Herein, MoSe/BiSe composites integrated with N-doped carbon nanosheets are synthesized, which spontaneously self-assemble into flower-like microspheres (MoSe/BiSe@N-C).
