A little girl with the Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome showing a characteristic essential insomnia was examined clinically, genetically and hormonally. The values of arginin-vasotocin (AVT) implied in producing paradoxical sleep were normal. The relationship between AVT and insomnia is discussed.

The Verloes or Hale diagnostic criteria have been applied for diagnosing CHARGE syndrome in suspected patients. This study was conducted to evaluate the diagnostic rate of CHD7 according to these diagnostic criteria in suspected patients and also to investigate other genetic defects in CHD7-negative patients. The clinical findings and the results of genetic testing of CHD7, chromosome microarray, exome sequencing, or genome sequencing of 59 subjects were reviewed.

The apo LETM1 F-EF-hand adopts a closed conformation that underlies a multi-modal sensory role in mitochondria.

Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada.

Leucine zipper EF-hand containing transmembrane protein-1 (LETM1) plays a critical role in mitochondrial function, with haploinsufficiency linked to Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome. Here, we present the solution NMR structure of the calcium (Ca)-depleted LETM1 EF-hand domain, revealing a closed conformation facilitated by a distinct F-helix pivot rather than decreased interhelical angle. Further, we observe regiospecific unfolding in response to hot and cold denaturation and show H662 has a pKa in-line with physiological pH fluctuations.

Introduction: Constitutional structural abnormalities affecting chromosome 4 result in variable distinct phenotypic traits including duplication 4p syndrome, deletion 4p or Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS), deletion 4q and duplication 4q syndromes. Complex rearrangements involving both chromosome 4 arms are very rarely reported with different break points occurring within regions of 4p13-p16 and 4q32-35. They most commonly occur in familial cases due to parental pericentric inversion resulting in a recombinant chromosome 4 "rec(4).

Purpose: Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS), a contiguous gene syndrome caused by heterozygous deletions of the distal short arm of chromosome 4 that includes , reportedly causes specific DNA methylation signatures in peripheral blood cells. However, the genomic loci responsible for these signatures have not been elucidated. The present study aims to define the loci underlying WHS-related DNA methylation signatures and explore the role of in these signatures.

Objectives: To assess the impact of body mass index (BMI) on hypoglossal nerve stimulator (HNS) implantation outcomes in pediatric patients with Down syndrome (DS). We compare outcomes of HNS implantation when comparing children based on overweight or obese status.

Methods: Retrospective cohort study of patients at a single tertiary pediatric hospital who underwent HNS implantation between 2022 and 2024.
