Recent clinical practice guidelines for diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) emphasise a holistic, person-centred approach to care. However, they do not include recommendations for the assessment of patient-reported outcomes (PROs), which would - dependent on the topic of guideline - be important for improving shared decision-making, patients' concordance with guideline recommendations, clinical outcomes and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). The Taskforce of the Guideline Workshop discussed PROs in diabetes, obesity, CVD and CKD as well as the relevance of their inclusion in clinical practice guidelines for the management of these conditions.

Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate associations of early-pregnancy plasma per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) with maternal post-pregnancy weight trajectory parameters.

Methods: We studied 1106 Project Viva participants with measures of early-pregnancy plasma concentrations of eight PFAS. We measured weight at in-person visits at 6 months and 3, 7, and 12 years after pregnancy and collected self-reported weight via annual questionnaires up to 17 years after pregnancy.

Objective: The objective of this study was to estimate the 10-year clinical benefits and economic value of weight loss in a Swedish population with obesity using a value of weight-loss simulation model.

Methods: Data on the prevalence of and costs associated with obesity and obesity-related complications (ORCs) were applied within an adapted simulation model to evaluate weight-loss benefits for a 2023 Swedish population over 10 years. The 10-year incidence of 10 ORCs and treatment costs in a random cohort of 10,000 individuals were estimated for a stable weight scenario and four weight-loss (5%-20%) scenarios.

Objectives: While there is growing evidence that physical activity reduces the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the impact of occupational physical activity and sedentary behaviour remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the associations between occupational physical activity and sedentary behaviour and HCC risk.

Design: Matched case-control study.

Introduction: During sedation for gastroscopy, hypoxaemia represents the most common adverse event. The objective of this trial is to assess the efficacy and safety of bilevel positive airway pressure (BPAP) for the prevention of hypoxaemia, in comparison with nasal cannula oxygen therapy, among patients predisposed to hypoxaemia during sedation for gastroscopy.

Methods And Analysis: This randomised controlled trial (RCT) will include 616 patients at risk of hypoxaemia when undergoing gastroscopy, including those with advanced age, frailty, American Society of Anesthesiologists grades III-IV, obesity, obstructive sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome, cardiac disease, respiratory disease and diabetes.

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is characterized by insulin resistance and defective insulin secretion. Previously, we found that rats fed soft pellets (SPs) on a 3-hour restricted schedule over 14 weeks demonstrated glucose intolerance and insulin resistance with disruption of insulin signaling.

Objective: To determine (1) the time required for an SP diet to induce insulin resistance, and (2) whether the metabolic derangements in rats fed SPs can be reversed by changing to a standard control diet.
