Unlabelled: Chondritic meteorites (chondrites) contain evidence for the interaction of liquid water with the interiors of small bodies early in Solar System history. Here we review the processes, products and timings of the low-temperature aqueous alteration reactions in CR, CM, CI and ungrouped carbonaceous chondrites, the asteroids Ryugu and Bennu, and hydrated dark clasts in different types of meteorites. We first consider the nature of chondritic lithologies and the insights that they provide into alteration conditions, subdivided by the mineralogy and petrology of hydrated chondrites, the mineralogy of hydrated dark clasts, the effects of alteration on presolar grains, and the evolution of organic matter. We then describe the properties of the aqueous fluids and how they reacted with accreted material as revealed by physicochemical modelling and hydrothermal experiments, the analysis of fluid inclusions in aqueously formed minerals, and isotope tracers. Lastly, we outline the chronology of aqueous alteration reactions as determined using the Mn-Cr and I-Xe systems.

ConspectusProteins and peptides occur ubiquitously in organisms and play key functional roles, as structural elements and catalysts. Their major natural source is ribosomal synthesis, which produces polypeptides from 20 amino acid building blocks. Peptides containing noncanonical amino acids have long been prepared by chemical synthesis, which has provided a wealth of physiologically active compounds.

Background: Methotrexate (MTX) is an antifolate medication indicated to treat an array of tumors and autoinflammatory maladies. MTX may exhibit harmful impacts on multiple organs, especially liver injury and cirrhosis. Juniperus macrocarpa is a medicinal herb enriched with polyphenols and flavonoids featuring robust anti-inflammatory and antioxidative benefits.

In photopharmacology, molecular photoswitches enable light-controlled drug activities, offering precision in targeting biomolecular functions while minimizing side effects. Photostatins (PSTs) are photoswitchable analogs of combretastatin A-4 (CA4), designed to inhibit tubulin polymerization for cancer treatment. However, the influence of substituents and molecular environments on their photochemistry remains unclear.

Nephrolithiasis, or kidney stone formation, is a widespread global health concern. This study examines the effects of polyphenolic extracts, along with their anthocyanin and non-anthocyanin fractions, from sumac fruit, pomegranate peel, almond leaves, falsa fruit, and banana bract on the crystallization of calcium oxalate (CaC2O4.nH2O) and brushite (CaHPO4 2H2O) in vitro.

Pre-diabetes is the preceding condition of diabetes, and in some cases, fundus changes have been seen in pre-diabetes. The inflammatory response is widely recognized as being involved in the pathophysiologic process of diabetic eye disease. Therefore, we aimed to acquire understanding of the role of early altered blood glucose levels in the development and etiology of diabetic ocular disorders from the perspective of inflammation.
