Management in primary health care (PHC) focuses on system design, improvement policies, and implementation of evidence-based interventions. This review identifies and describes management strategies used to improve PHC in terms of quality, accessibility, efficiency, and satisfaction of health professionals and patients. A review of the literature published in PubMed, Ovid/Medline, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar was conducted. Research focused on management models, open access, and published in the last 5 years was selected. Validity was determined, results were described, and a thematic discussion of the content was conducted. Eighteen studies were included, most of which were narrative reviews (38.9%) (n = 7). The most frequently studied management strategies corresponded to the quality domain (94.4%) (n = 17), followed by efficiency (61.1%) (n = 11) and accessibility (38.9%) (n = 7). Strategies to improve the satisfaction of healthcare professionals and patients were the least studied, at 16.7% (n = 3) each. Strategies to improve management in PHC should cover several dimensions and adapt to the needs of the environment. It is recommended to emphasize optimizing quality, accessibility, efficiency, ensuring the well-being of professionals and improving the user experience, while fostering the ability to withstand challenges and innovate.

Phosphorus is considered an ideal anode material for lithium ion storage by virtue of its high theoretical capacity and moderate lithiation potential. Current influenza vaccines are not effective in conferring protection against antigenic variants and pandemics. To improve cross-protection of influenza vaccination, we developed a 5xM2e messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine encoding the tandem repeat conserved ectodomain (M2e) of ion channel protein M2 derived from human, swine, and avian influenza A viruses. The lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-encapsulated 5xM2e mRNA vaccine was immunogenic, eliciting high levels of M2e-specific IgG antibodies, IFN-γ+ T cells, T follicular helper cells, germinal center phenotypic B cells, and plasma cells.

Natural killer (NK) cells are a promising approach for cellular cancer immunotherapy and are being investigated to treat patients with multiple myeloma (MM). We found that MM patient blood NK cell frequencies were normal with increased activating receptors and cytotoxic granules, without evidence of functional exhaustion. Despite this activated state, MM target cells were resistant to conventional NK cells by unclear mechanisms.

Diabetic nephropathy is a severe chronic complication characterized by cytotoxicity, inflammation, and fibrosis, ultimately leading to renal failure. This study systematically investigated the effects of the PARP1 inhibitor PJ-34 on high glucose-induced cytotoxicity, inflammation, and fibrosis in HK-2 cells, as well as its improvement on neuropathic pain response and transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) expression in a type 1 diabetes mellitus diabetic nephropathy mouse model. Through cellular and animal experiments, we observed that PJ-34 significantly enhanced the proliferative capacity of cells damaged by high glucose, reduced apoptosis, and decreased the release of proinflammatory factors TGFα, interleukin-6, and interleukin-1β.
