Background: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) occur in ∼7% of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patients. Data about their natural history remain scarce and neither risk classifications, prognosis model nor adjuvant treatment have been validated in this population.
Methods: This national retrospective study included consecutive operated NF1-GIST cases from 31 reference centers in France, mostly from the NETSARC+ network.

Background: Female patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) undergoing repair have worse outcomes than males. Textbook outcomes (TO) have been described as a metric to direct quality improvement efforts and assess institutional performance. We investigated sex differences among patients achieving a TO after open (OAR) and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR).

We conducted a phase 2, nonrandomized, single-arm clinical trial (NCT04022343) of cabozantinib treatment for 12 weeks in 17 patients with locally advanced, biopsy-proven, nonmetastatic clear cell RCC before surgical resection. The primary end point was the objective response rate (complete and partial responses) at week 12 and secondary end points included safety, tolerability, clinical and surgical outcomes, and quality of life.

Background: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair often involves significant postoperative pain, traditionally managed with systemic opioids, which can cause undesirable side effects. This case report explores the novel use of a surgically-initiated rectus sheath block with a catheter-over-needle assembly for pain management in AAA repair.
Case Summary: A 67-year-old female with hypertension and previous aortic dissection underwent elective open repair of an infrarenal AAA, which had grown from 3.

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of prophylactic mesh augmentation (PMA) of the abdominal wall following open aortic aneurysm repair as compared to primary sutured closure in preventing incisional hernia (IH) formation by performing an individual patient-data meta-analysis (IPDMA).
Summary Background Data: IH is a prevalent complication after abdominal surgery, especially in high-risk groups. PMA of the abdominal wall has been studied as a preventive measure for IH-formation, but strong recommendations are lacking.
