The World Health Organization (WHO) defines interprofessional education (IPE) as "when two or more professions learn about, from and with each other", and considers IPE a necessary component of a "collaborative practice-ready" workforce. In this article we describe an interprofessional educational activity that focused on increasing students' knowledge of healthcare professionals' roles and responsibilities. Faculty members representing six healthcare related disciplines collaborated to develop an interactive group activity. Students from athletic training, nutrition, nursing, pharmacy, social work and speech-language pathology programs participated in a 1-h interactive session focusing on comparing and contrasting 20 common roles and responsibilities between each discipline. Each student completed a knowledge assessment prior to and after the interactive session. Using a matched pair pre-post design, we compared students' scores on their knowledge of interprofessional roles and responsibilities before and after the intervention. The findings revealed that students displayed an overall increase in knowledge. This intervention demonstrates that an interprofessional group-based activity can be a useful tool to increase students' understanding of various healthcare roles and their responsibilities. By improving knowledge, these students could be better prepared to participate in an interprofessional healthcare team, thereby improving the quality of patient-centered care.

Background: Current nursing instructional methods inadequately prepare students for complex healthcare settings, exacerbating challenges in new graduate competency and transition to practice. The introduction of standardized competencies marks a substantial shift in nursing education, posing a considerable challenge for faculty implementing these changes.

Purpose: This study examined the experiences of faculty implementing a competency-based education program utilizing The Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education (2021) in undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) education programs.

Background: General practice owners are responsible for access to care 24 hours a day, but they can struggle to find associates or successors. Fewer practice owners means that the core value, continuity of care (COC), is at risk. However, little is known about the career considerations of young GPs and barriers and facilitators to become practice owners.

Introduction: Family caregivers play an indispensable role in the care of solid organ transplant patients, undertaking a wide range of tasks from basic daily care to complex medical management. However, these responsibilities come with substantial challenges, placing additional strain on caregivers who bear significant physical, emotional, financial and social burdens, along with numerous unmet support needs. Currently, the exploration of challenges and support needs among family caregivers in the caregiving process is limited to primary research, lacking a synthesised and comprehensive understanding of the issues.

Iron-sulfur (FeS) protein biogenesis in eukaryotes is mediated by two different machineries - one in the mitochondria and another in the cytoplasm. Glutaredoxin 5 (Grx5) is a component of the mitochondrial iron-sulfur cluster (ISC) machinery. Here we define the roles of Grx5 in maintaining overall mitochondrial/cellular FeS protein biogenesis, utilizing mitochondria and cytoplasm isolated from Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells.

In vitro fertilization, cryopreservation and pre-implantation genetic testing are transformative reproductive technologies offering hope for individuals facing fertility challenges. Scientifically, understanding the science of developmental biology is essential for comprehending the mechanisms and implications of these technologies. In embryological sciences, biological perspectives identify life as a series of developmental stages ranging from conception to viability, each potentially representing a different 'beginning' of life.
