Deep-Learning-Assisted Understanding of the Self-Assembly of Miktoarm Star Block Copolymers.

ACS Nano

March 2025

School of Chemical Science and Engineering, Tongji University, 1239 Siping Road, Shanghai 200092, China.

The self-assemblies of topological complex block copolymers, especially the AB type miktoarm star ones, are fascinating topics in the soft matter field, which represent typical self-assembly behaviors analogous to those of biological membranes. However, their diverse topological asymmetries and versatile spontaneous curvatures result in rather complex phase separations that deviate significantly from the common mechanisms. Thus, numerous trial-and-error experiments with tremendous parameter space and intricate relationships are needed to study their assemblies.

An auditory steady-state response (ASSR) is an electrophysiological response to periodic stimuli that reflects the synchronization of endogenous oscillations. The 40-Hz ASSR is reduced in patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism spectrum disorder, making it a candidate biomarker for these psychiatric disorders. Previous studies have revealed that experimental conditions such as stimulus duration and inter-stimulus interval tend to affect ASSR, suggesting that novelty detection may play an important role in determining the magnitude of ASSR.

20-Week Toxicity Study of Rotigotine Behenate Extended-Release Microspheres for Intramuscular Injection in Sprague Dawley Rats.

Food Chem Toxicol

March 2025

School of Pharmacy, Key Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology and Drug Evaluation (Yantai University), Ministry of Education, Collaborative Innovation Center of Advanced Drug Delivery System and Biotech Drugs in Universities of Shandong, Yantai University, Yantai, Shandong 264003, China. Electronic address:

Based on the concept of continuous dopaminergic stimulation (CDS), Rotigotine Behenate extended-release microspheres for injection (RBEM) are currently under development. To support human clinical trials of RBEM, a 20-week repeat-dose toxicity study was conducted. SD rats intramuscularly received RBEM (60, 180, and 540 mg/kg) once every 4 weeks for 5 repeated doses followed by a 12-week recovery period, no clear sex difference was noted in the plasma exposure of rotigotine in rats, and the exposure generally increased in a dose-proportional manner.

Aging is a risk factor for cancer, and the number of older adults with cancer is rising. When delivering cancer care for this population, it is essential to assess not only the cancer but also the individual as an older adult. Accurate evaluation requires understanding the biological, physiological, and social characteristics associated with aging.
