This study reviews the diagnostic criteria and treatment strategies for spinal malignant gliomas, particularly glioblastoma with -wildtype and diffuse midline gliomas with H3-K27 alteration, according to the World Health Organization 2021 classification. Surgical resection remains challenging owing to the diffuse nature of these tumors. Even with the Stupp regimen(temozolomide and radiotherapy), the prognosis remains poor, with an average survival of 12 months. New therapeutic approaches, such as photodynamic therapy, and targeted molecular therapies, such as ONC201 and anlotinib, are currently under investigation. These innovations may improve the outcome of patients with malignant spinal gliomas, highlighting the importance of molecular profiling and collaborative research efforts to advance treatment.

Gamma oscillations are essential for brain communication. The 40 Hz neural oscillation deficits in schizophrenia impair left frontotemporal connectivity and information communication, causing auditory hallucinations. Transcranial alternating current stimulation is thought to enhance connectivity between different brain regions by modulating brain oscillations.

Differences in cancer and normal cell oxidative metabolism provide a unique therapeutic opportunity for developing combined modality approaches with redox-active small molecules as radio-chemosensitizers that are well-tolerated by normal tissues. Pentaazamacrocyclic Mn (II)-containing (MnPAM) superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetics and pharmacological ascorbate given IV to achieve [mM] plasma levels (pharmacological ascorbate: P-AscH‾) have been shown to act individually as cancer cell radio- and chemosensitizers via the generation of HOin vivo. The current study shows that the combination of newly developed MnPAM dismutase mimetic, rucosopasem manganese (RUC) with P-AscH‾ radio-sensitizes non-small cell lung cancer cells (NSCLC) and increases steady state levels of intracellular HO with no additional toxicity to normal human bronchial epithelial cells (HBECs).

Sonodynamic therapy, a treatment modality recently widely used, is capable of disrupting the tumor microenvironment by inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD) and enhancing antitumor immunity during immunotherapy. Erdafitinib, an inhibitor of the fibroblast growth factor receptor, has demonstrated potential benefits for treating bladder cancer. However, Erdafitinib shows effectiveness in only a small number of patients, and the majority of patients responding positively to the medication have "immune-cold" tumors.
