A database of nutritional strategies of nanoplankton genera present in North American lake surface waters is presented. This work represents an integrated and updated database of nutritional strategies for nanoplankton genera commonly found in surface waters of North American lakes. We tabulate the nutritional strategies (autotroph, phago-mixotroph and phago-heterotroph) for nanoplankton genera identified during several pan-continental lake surveys: the EPA-NLA surveys conducted in 2012 and 2017 across the continental USA and the NSERC Canadian Lake Pulse survey campaign conducted from 2017 to 2019. We expect that this work will serve others in the plankton community interested in assessing nanoplankton feeding strategies.

Evaluating the dynamic co-evolution and feedback mechanisms within socio-ecological systems is crucial for determining the resilience and sustainability of environmental governance strategies. The grass-livestock system, as a complex entity encompassing livestock nutrition, foraging behavior, vegetation ecology, pastoralists' economic income, and policy interventions, indicates that any change in a single element may trigger a chain reaction within the system. This paper uses a system dynamics approach to construct a simulation model of the grass-livestock system in alpine pastoral areas, simulating the long-term dynamic co-evolution of the socio-ecological system in the Qilian Mountains region of China.

Context: Our study explores the impact of human PTH 1-34 injections (PTH therapy) on growth, areal bone mineral density (BMD), and bone quality (measured by trabecular bone score, TBS) in hypoparathyroidism due to autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 1 (APS-1) or an activating variant of the calcium sensing receptor (CaR).
Objective: To assess associations of 1) age and PTH therapy duration with age-standardized Z-scores for height (HAZ), BMD (BMD-Z), and TBS (TBS-Z) in CaR or APS-1, and 2) APS-1 disease severity with BMD-Z and TBS-Z.
Methods: This secondary analysis pooled linear growth and lumbar spine (LS) DXA data from studies of hypoparathyroidism with mean baseline age of 13.

Infertility poses a global challenge that impacts a significant proportion of the populace. Presently, there is a substantial emphasis on investigating the potential of probiotics and their derivatives, called postbiotics, as an alternative therapeutic strategy for addressing infertility. The term of "postbiotics" refers to compounds including peptides, enzymes, teichoic acids, and muropeptides derived from peptidoglycans, polysaccharides, proteins, and organic acids that are excreted by living bacteria or released after bacterial lysis.

Proteins are indispensable for maintaining a healthy diet and performing crucial functions in a multitude of physiological processes. The growth of the global population and the emergence of environmental concerns have significantly increased the demand for protein-rich foods such as meat and dairy products, exerting considerable pressure on global food supplies. Single-cell proteins (SCP) have emerged as a promising alternative source, characterized by their high protein content and essential amino acids, lipids, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, inorganic salts, vitamins, and trace elements.

Cancer is a major global health issue that is usually treated with multiple therapies, such as chemotherapy and targeted therapies like immunotherapy. Immunotherapy is a new and alternative approach to treating various types of cancer that are difficult to treat with other methods. Although immune checkpoint inhibitors have shown promise for long-term efficacy, they have limited effectiveness in common cancer types such as breast, prostate, and lung.
