A method of bone lengthening for bilateral shortness of the fourth toe in a 23-year-old woman is described. The symptomatic short fourth toes were successfully treated by metatarsal and phalangeal diaphyseal lengthenings with metatarsophalangeal joint preservation.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effect of implantation of fresh human amniotic membranes (HAM) on bone consolidation during distraction bone lengthening.
Methods: Ten New Zealand white rabbits were used in this study. For each rabbit, we performed a diaphyseal tibial osteotomy after installing a single-plane distraction external fixator.

Objective: Ilizarov technology is highly effective in addressing complex orthopedic challenges. This study aims to describe our experience with distraction osteogenesis in managing bone tumors in the lower extremity, focusing on composite bone defects and associated complications.
Methods: A retrospective clinical study was conducted to analyze patients with primary bone tumors who underwent distraction osteogenesis using the Ilizarov method from 2010 to 2020.

Aim: The treatment of massive diaphyseal tibial bone defects remains challenging with poor results seen from treatment modalities other than bone transport (BT). Current methods of BT require lengthy periods in a circular external fixator. Despite recent modifications in BT techniques via circular external fixator such as multifocal transport and immediate intramedullary nailing after docking, circular external fixation remains poorly tolerated with a high complication profile.

Background: The soft-tissue tension is closely associated with postoperative hip dislocation in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA), especially for those patients with neurological disorders and insufficient muscle tension. The aim of this study is to explore the effect of limb lengthening on the incidence of complications following THA in patients with neurological disorders and insufficient muscle tension.
Methods: This retrospective analysis examines individuals with neurological disorders, such as ischemic stroke and poliomyelitis, who underwent primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) at our medical center between January 2015 and April 2021.

Purpose: Management of fibular hemimelia includes either prosthetic care with or without a suitable amputation or tibial lengthening. Many studies have documented the success of both procedures. Most parents of these children refuse an amputation or have no access to good prosthetic care.
