The management of patients with acute infectious diseases can present significant challenges, especially if the causative agent has a propensity for person-to-person transmission. In such cases, effective patient management is dependent on both rapid identification of disease and the provision of necessary medical care while adhering to suitable infection prevention and control measures to reduce the potential for onwards transmission. The UK has operated a defined system for managing patients with high-consequence infectious diseases (HCIDs) since the 1970s, when protocols were first implemented following the first descriptions of several viral haemorrhagic fever diseases, including Marburg virus disease, Lassa fever and Ebola virus disease (EVD).

Introduction: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is one of the most acute tick-transmitted zoonotic diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the molecular characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of the CCHF virus based on the S-segment nucleocapsid gene in Ardabil Province, northwestern Iran.
Materials And Methods: From November 2021 to May 2023, a total of 20 peripheral blood specimens were collected from suspected CCHF patients.

Objectives: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is the most widespread tick-borne viral disease worldwide. CCHF was not recognized in Iraq before 1979, after which many outbreaks occurred, and the disease became endemic with the re-emergence of outbreaks. This study aimed to analyze the epidemiology of the largest outbreak in Iraqi history in 2023.

Arboviruses pose significant public health challenges globally, particularly in Pakistan, where deforestation, climate change, urbanization, inadequate sanitation, and natural disasters have all contributed to the spread of mosquito-borne flavivirus diseases like dengue fever. The lack of a thorough national surveillance system has made it difficult to determine the extent and distribution of these diseases. Concern has been raised by recent outbreaks of West Nile virus (WNV) and chikungunya (CHIKV) epidemics, which may lead to Zika virus (ZIKV) outbreaks in the future.

This increase in range and impact emphasises the need to improve preparedness for emerging arboviral infections that often co-circulate and might have overlapping clinical syndromes.
