Ghost holography has attracted notable applied interest in the modern quantitative imaging applications with the futuristic features of complex field recovery in the diversified imaging scenarios. However, the utilization of digital holography in ghost frame works introduces space bandwidth or time bandwidth restrictions in the implementation of the technique in applied domains. Here, we propose and demonstrate a quantitative ghost phase imaging approach with holographic ghost diffraction scheme in combination with the phase-shifting technique. The approach makes use of an off-axis holography system by superposing the ghost diffraction fields with a reference random field generated from an independent diffuser. In addition, the technique utilizes the high-speed response of a spatial light modulator to introduce a fast temporal phase shifting to one of the ghost-diffraction fields that views the object, which practically results in the enhancement of the effective bandwidth in the frequency domain by suppressing redundant terms. The applicability of the technique is experimentally validated by demonstrating the quantitative phase imaging of various abrupt and continuous phase samples.

Background: /aims. Pseudoxanthoma Elasticum (PXE, OMIM 264800) is an autosomal, recessive, metabolic disorder characterized by progressive ectopic calcification in the skin, the vasculature and Bruch's membrane. Variants in the ABCC6 gene are associated with low plasma pyrophosphate (PPi) concentration.

Background: People with malignancy of undefined primary origin (MUO) have a poor prognosis and may undergo a protracted diagnostic workup causing patient distress and high cancer related costs. Not having a primary diagnosis limits timely site-specific treatment and access to precision medicine. There is a need to improve the diagnostic process, and healthcare delivery and support for these patients.

This study aims to establish an imitation task of multi-finger haptics in the context of regular grasping and regrasping processes during activities of daily living. A video guided the 26 healthy, right-handed volunteers through the three phases of the task: (1) fixation of a hand holding a cuboid, (2) observation of the sensori-motor manipulation, (3) imitation of that motor action. fMRI recorded the task; graph analysis of the acquisitions revealed the associated functional cerebral connectivity patterns.

Super-resolution (SR) neural networks transform low-resolution optical microscopy images into SR images. Application of single-image SR (SISR) methods to long-term imaging has not exploited the temporal dependencies between neighboring frames and has been subject to inference uncertainty that is difficult to quantify. Here, by building a large-scale fluorescence microscopy dataset and evaluating the propagation and alignment components of neural network models, we devise a deformable phase-space alignment (DPA) time-lapse image SR (TISR) neural network.

Polymer blending is an interesting strategy to broaden the combination of properties available for a variety of applications. To understand the behaviour of the new materials obtained as well as the influence of the fabrication parameters used, methods to analyse the distribution of polymers in the blend with resolution below the micrometer are required. In this work, we demonstrate the capability of focused ion beam (FIB) tomography to provide 3D information of the polymer distribution in objects obtained by blending acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate (ASA) with polycarbonate (PC) (50 wt%), fabricated by Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) and by Injection Moulding (IM).
