Heterotopic ossification is ectopic lamellar bone formation within soft tissue and can result in significant functional limitations. There are multiple underlying etiologies of HO including musculoskeletal trauma and traumatic brain injury. Intra-articular HO of the knee is rare and is typically located within the cruciate ligaments.

To evaluate the impact of excimer laser-assisted deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (Exc-DALK) and excimer laser-assisted penetrating keratoplasty (Exc-PKP) on subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT) in eyes with advanced keratoconus. A retrospective comparative clinical study, which compares the outcomes of 24 eyes treated with Exc-DALK (G1) against matched group of 43 eyes treated with Exc-PKP (G2) at both 2 months (T1) and 2 years (T2) postoperatively. Main outcomes included best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central macular thickness (CMT), and SFCT.

Introduction: Neurogenic Heterotopic ossification (NHO) is a potential sequalae and a detrimental complication following neurological insult. It is characterized by formation of localized gradually progressive, peri-articular lamellar bone formation in extra-skeletal tissues. We would like to report a rare case of heterotopic ossification involving all 4 limbs, in which we tried to restore joint mobility to improve his functional status so that he could perform his daily tasks.
