Navigating unfamiliar environments can be challenging for visually impaired individuals due to difficulties in recognizing distant landmarks or visual cues. This work focuses on a particular form of wayfinding, specifically backtracking a previously taken path, which can be useful for blind pedestrians. We propose a hands-free indoor navigation solution using a smartphone without relying on pre-existing maps or external infrastructure. Our hybrid matching method integrates machine learning to enhance positioning accuracy, addressing real-life challenges such as odometry errors or deviations from the correct path. Testing with datasets from visually impaired individuals demonstrates the potential of our approach in providing reliable backtracking assistance.

Purpose Of The Review: Clinical trials suggest that dietary anthocyanins may enhance cognitive function. This systematic literature review and meta-analysis aimed to identify the effect of anthocyanin on cognition and mood in adults.
Recent Findings: Using a random-effects model, Hedge's g scores were calculated to estimate the effect size.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) unfavorably affects working capacity. The Comprehensive International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health Core Set for MS (cICF-MS), issued by the World Health Organization, has not yet been extended to evaluate working capacity level (WCL). To evaluate the relative importance of cICF-MS categories in relation to WCL.

Purpose: Congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy (CHED) impairs the sensitive phase of visual development. We examined results of Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) for CHED regarding the critical period for amblyogenic factors.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of 11 eyes of 6 consecutive patients with CHED younger than 8 years treated with DSAEK and a PubMed-based literature search on management and optimal timing of the intervention.

Myopia stands as a prevalent ocular condition with global implications, impacting individuals at various life stages. In school-age children and adolescents, uncorrected myopia impedes reading and academic performance. Among middle-aged and elderly populations, myopia poses severe risks such as macular degeneration, macular holes and retinal detachment, leading to irreversible visual impairment.

Osteopetrosis is a group of genetically and clinically diverse inherited disorders characterized by an increase in bone density. The main known cause is an abnormality in the development or function of osteoclasts. Hence, the process of bone resorption is impaired, resulting in: 1- a reduction in bone marrow volume and, subsequently, a decrement in the hematopoietic capacity of bone marrow, which leads to anemia and compromised immunological function; 2- improper bone development, which leads to pressure on peripheral nerves, causing auditory, visual, and movement impairments; and 3- disturbance in the formation of bone microstructure that leads to susceptibility to bone fracture.
