Background: Fatigue is a prevalent issue among cancer patients. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an individualized intervention that empowers patients and caregivers to actively participate in the treatment process. A recent systematic review and meta-analysis examined the impact of CBT on fatigue in cancer patients.
Methods: Articles published up to April 2023 were systematically searched in Scopus, PubMed, and the Web of Science using relevant keywords. All randomized clinical trials (RCTs) investigating the effects of CBT on fatigue in cancer patients were included. Statistical analyses were conducted using Stata version 14, with a significance level set at a -value of <0.05.
Results: The current systematic review and meta-analysis encompasses 10 RCTs. CBT demonstrated a significant reduction in fatigue scores among cancer patients [standardized mean difference (WMD): -2.50; 95%CI: -3.43, -1.56; I2 = 95.8%, < 0.001]. This effect was consistent across all subgroup analyses.
Conclusion: This study underscores the significant impact of CBT on fatigue in cancer patients. Further randomized clinical trials focusing on various cancer types are warranted to validate and build upon these findings.

The advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has transformed the management of advanced and high-risk renal cell carcinoma (RCC). In the adjuvant setting, ICIs, such as pembrolizumab, aim to reduce the risk of recurrence following potentially curative nephrectomy. However, this therapeutic approach introduces unique challenges, particularly related to immune-related adverse events (irAEs).

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are now considered revolutionary agents in the treatment of various cancers. Prospective data are limited on the patterns of usage and toxicity profile of these drugs. We planned this study for addressing the same in Indian patients.

Objective: To elucidate the metabolic mechanisms by which acteoside (ACT) isolated from alleviates cancer-related fatigue (CRF) in a murine model of colon cancer with cachexia.
Methods: BALB/c mice inoculated with C26 colon cancer cells were treated with paclitaxel (PTX, 10 mg/kg) and ACT (100 mg/kg) alone or in combination for 21 days. Fatigue-associated behaviors, tumor inhibition rate, and skeletal muscle morphology assessed by hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) staining and electron microscopy were evaluated.

To investigate cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), body composition, health behaviors, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in adolescent and young adult cancer survivors (AYA-CS) compared with age-matched counterparts without a cancer diagnosis. This cross-sectional study recruited participants aged 15-25 years at the time of their cancer diagnosis and ≥ 5 years post-treatment. Participants completed cardiopulmonary exercise testing, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, food diaries, physical activity (PA), fatigue, and HRQoL questionnaires.

Purpose/objective: Partial breast irradiation (PBI) delivered with intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) over five fractions every other day (QOD) represents an attractive, convenient method of delivering adjuvant radiation therapy for well selected patients without compromising oncologic or toxicity outcomes. Condensing this regimen to a week of treatment through consecutive daily delivery may further increase patient convenience, though comparison of toxicities between daily and QOD regimens are limited.
Materials/methods: We retrospectively reviewed 507 patients from an institutional registry undergoing PBI for DCIS or early-stage breast cancer (T1-2N0/x) from 2015 to 2022.
