Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are associated with a multifactorial complicated aetiology that is often coexisting and has a strong and distinct connection with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). In order to accomplish effective and appropriate therapeutic strategies, a deeper understanding of the bidirectional interaction between NAFLD patients, NAFLD patients with T2DM, and NAFLD patients with CVDs is required to control the concomitant rise in prevalence of these conditions worldwide. This article also aims to shed light on the epidemiology and mechanisms behind the relationship between T2DM, NAFLD and the related cardiovascular consequences.

Objective: This study aims to delineate the clinical features underlying the concurrent disease of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and myasthenia gravis (MG), and to identify efficacious therapeutic strategies.
Background: NMOSD and MG are uncommon autoimmune diseases that infrequently co-exist. Despite previous reports, a consensus on treating NMOSD concurrent with MG is lacking.

Autoimmune diseases (AID) are defined by immune dysregulation characterized by specific humoral and/or cell mediated responses directed against the body's own tissues. Cytokines in particular play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of AID, with proinflammatory cytokines contributing to the initiation and propagation of autoimmune inflammation, whereas anti-inflammatory cytokines facilitate regression of inflammation and recovery from acute phases of the disease. Parallel work by our group evaluating a comprehensive set of pro- and anti-inflammatory serum cytokines in Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) as well as Alopecia areata (AA) uncovered a similar pattern of inheritance specific immune dysregulation in these two distinct autoimmune skin diseases.

Background: Microbial spoilage in meat impedes the development of sustainable food systems. However, our understanding of the origin of spoilage microbes is limited. Here, we describe a detailed longitudinal study that assesses the microbial dynamics in a meat processing facility using high-throughput culture-dependent and culture-independent approaches to reveal the diversity, dispersal, persistence, and biofilm formation of spoilage-associated microbes.

Introduction: Hypertension (HTN) and diabetes frequently coexist. This study aims to elucidate the associations between HTN and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), as well as the connections between distinct forms of HTN and HbA1c.
Methods: We collected data from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011-2018 in this study, including anthropometric tests and biochemical measures.
