Lynn S. Muller, JD, RN, BA-HCM, CCM, began her career at Pace University as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN), went onto earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Care Management at St. Peter's University of New Jersey and then her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She is currently a practicing Attorney and the managing partner of Muller & Muller. Dr. Muller is the former Director of Social Services for the Borough of Bergenfield, N.J., a community-based case management program she developed and initiated. Mental illness, affecting one in eight people worldwide, is often exacerbated by stigma-which can result in self-stigmatization, isolation, and loneliness and negatively impact access to health care, education, and social connection. Previous research has found that stigma is best reduced through a combination of education about the stigmatized population and intentional contact with individuals from that population. Studies also note the benefits of community-based, culturally-relevant interventions and cultural experiences such as live music.

Transgender youth are disproportionately affected by HIV, particularly minoritized youth in the US south. To understand HIV service use among transgender youth, we interviewed 25 young racial and ethnic minority clients of four southern community-based HIV service organizations (CBOs), and CBO staff ( = 12), about service access and use. Participants were assigned male at birth and identified as female ( = 8), transgender ( = 11) or gender-fluid or nonbinary ( = 6).
