Mechanical forces influence cellular proliferation, differentiation, tissue morphogenesis, and functional expression within the body. To comprehend the impact of these forces on living organisms, their quantification is essential. This study introduces a novel microdifferential pressure measurement device tailored for cellular-scale pressure assessments. The device comprises a glass substrate and a microchannel constructed of polydimethylsiloxane, polytetrafluoroethylene tubes, a glass capillary, and a microsyringe pump. This device obviates the need for electrical measurements, relying solely on the displacement of ultrapure water within the microchannel to assess the micropressure in embryos. First, the device was subjected to arbitrary pressures, and the relationship between the pressure and the displacement of ultrapure water in the microchannel was determined. Calibration results showed that the displacement [μm] could be calculated from the pressure [Pa] using the equation = 0.36 . The coefficient of determination was shown to be 0.87, indicating a linear response. When utilized to measure brain ventricular pressure in mouse embryos, the fabricated device yielded an average pressure reading of 1313 ± 640 Pa. This device can facilitate the measurement of pressure within microcavities in living tissues and other areas requiring precise and localized pressure evaluations.

Here, we introduce CO hydrate-based desalination (CHBD) technology for freshwater recovery from radioactive wastewater, for water particularly containing Cs and Sr. The hydrate equilibrium curves of CO hydrates shift towards lower temperature and higher pressure regions as the concentrations of CsCl and SrCl increase. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy measurements found that neither CsCl nor SrCl can affect the structure of CO hydrates.

This study aims to address the environmental impact of using common commercial hydrate inhibitors such as Methanol (MeOH) in extremely cold oil and gas environments. As a greener alternative, (pectin) can act as a kinetic hydrate inhibitor (KHI) to delay hydrate formation. We evaluated the performance of amidated pectin (AMP), a type of pectin with higher electronegative functional groups, using a high-pressure micro-differential scanning calorimeter (HP µ-DSC) under isobaric conditions with constant cooling.

A gas-solid separation fluidized bed, which belongs to dry separation and can save a lot of water resources, is an important method for coal quality improvement. The effect of regional blockage of the air distributor on the fluidization effect was investigated by varying the blockage area and fluidization gas velocity, and the influence law of blockage of an air distributor on bed stability was revealed. In this paper, the micro-differential pressure sensor is used as a testing tool to analyze the regional characteristics of the fluidized bed blockage hole.

In this study, a new sI-sII dual hydrate former [chlorodifluoromethane (CHClF2); an important greenhouse gas with a global warming potential of 1810], which forms sI hydrate by itself and forms sII hydrate in the presence of external help guests such as CH4 and N2, was introduced and closely investigated for its potential significance in gas hydrate-based gas separation. The phase equilibria of CHClF2 hydrate, binary CHClF2 (5%) + N2 (95%) hydrate, and binary CHClF2 (5%) + CH4 (95%) hydrate were measured to examine the formation conditions and thermodynamic stability regions of CHClF2 + external guest hydrates. Nuclear magnetic resonance and in situ Raman spectroscopic results confirmed the formation of sII hydrates for CHClF2 + external guest (N2 or CH4) mixtures.
